Limiting?
I’ve watched a lot of videos where the limiter is set to -0.1, but the ones I have been watching lately go to -0.2 or -0.3. I notice Rob has his at -0.5 at the beginning of the recent VU video. Why the difference in numbers? It all seemed fine at -0.1.

Balancing the initial Mix
Sooooo assuming that your material is recorded well - nice level and no unpleasant distortion - we would then normalize all the stems/audio to be -10 - 20 dbfs right ? Then in logic I word then “balance” the mix with faders at zero and then use gain to automate and gain align multi mics instruments - drums etc to get a balanced mix - all good so far - even with 32 floating point set up what would be the max peak level be on any fader in order to get the best out come ? The recent gain staging a kick with a peak meter and VU video was very helpful- -5db and VU at 0 where should other instruments sit ?

What's your DAW?
What DAWs is everyone using and why did you choose that particular one or more? Mine is Steinberg Nuendo 4.3. I also just got FL Studio.
