When to press mute?????
I would like some ideas about how to work with a very talkative person in a group zoom call. ! I’m smiling as I write this, as I’m still thinking about the wonderful conversation we had the other day in Jule’s zoom call around listening.. . That was still foremost in my mind and It was the first call in my new free weekly meeting that I talked about in the zoom. I really want people to feel heard, but it did feel a bit like a take over bid.. I did have to step a few times to let others get a word in, and gently but firmly ask her to let people finish. There was lots of , “Oh yes it’s like… “ and at the end we got a list of her qualifications in psychology.. I’m going to admit that I really had moments of wanting to simply mute her 😱. She said several times that knew she talked too much and people found her frustrating., but that was how she was. I haven’t led many group calls, although I’ve done a lot in person. and I’d love some feed back from you lovely people.. . 🤔 I had a couple of messages afterwards from other participants , just nice thank yous and one said well done for maintaining my smile not losing patience! Hope is ok to ask this here. 🙂

Rule Breaking October
I've been playing with an idea since the first AJC Guest Expert Masterclass with Amir Karkouti. He said something we've all heard a number of times. We are making everything up. Including the rules we decide that hold us back in our business. So I decided to break one of my rules, that I couldn't just call people, and I called them. I then thought how much further could I be, if I decided to break my self-created rules. This feels like a cool game to play, so who wants to play it with me? I will host a kick off Zoom at the beginning of the month and a wrap up at the end, in the middle we can all share what rules we are breaking. Who's in? Much love Jules

@Julie Brown I need to have a think about it. Sometimes the rules I make up are disguised as as other things, like good or bad manners. Or like worrying that I should already know the answer to question I ve just posted ..🤣

Who's joining me tomorrow?
Hi all, who's joining me live on Zoom tomorrow for the first lessons from the AJC call? I'm looking forward to not only sharing my insights but exploring how they can help you in your business. Zoom link in the calendar, hoping to see you soon. Much love Jules xx

Do you spend lots of time in the noise?
Clarity of direction is one of the most underrated parts of growing a coaching business. Without it, everything feels heavier than it needs to. You can end up trying a bit of this, a bit of that, hoping something will land. It looks like movement, but underneath it’s noise. When you take the time to get clear on who you serve, the way you want to serve them, and the impact you’re here to create, things begin to settle. Your choices feel simpler, words feel sharper and your energy gathers pace instead of leaking into ten different places. Getting clear doesn’t ’mean you need to know the whole map. It only asks you to know the next step and move with it fully. That’s when traction begins. The coaches I see thriving aren’t chasing every new strategy, or shiny new offering, they’re building from a place of clarity, one step at a time, and letting momentum do the rest. Where in your business do you need to clear the noise so your next step is obvious? Much love - Jules

This really landed for me, because I do get sidetracked by “shiney new offerings” and it doesn’t help that if you even hesitate a moment at something that pops up on social media or search for something , you then get loads more of the same. When reflect back to ‘olden days’ 😳 it seems that it was easier to stay focused. At least, for me. I rememberwhen I was studying to go to the US , my mentor wrote me a reference and remarked that I was laser focused……
