Day 4: Where to Find the People With This Problem
Actions to take today: 1. Listen to Day 4 Audio Lesson 2. Read Today's Post 3. Complete Day 4 Task by replying to this post Good morning and welcome to Day 4. Over the last two days, you clarified: - the message you teach - the problem you solve - why you are the one to solve it Now we answer the next critical question: Where are the people with this problem already gathering? One thing I want to name early today: Sometimes we limit ourselves by assuming our message only fits in certain spaces. Your story of overcoming might feel like it belongs on a conference stage—but placed correctly, that same story can be powerful in corporate spaces, leadership trainings, staff development sessions, or retreats. Today is about expanding your lens, not shrinking your opportunities. ✨ Today’s Bankable Speaker Truth I don’t need more stages. I need the right rooms—and I stay open to unexpected ones. Read it out loud. What You’ll Learn Today When you’re clear on the problem you solve, opportunities show up in more places than you might expect. Problems don’t live in one lane. They show up across industries, organizations, and environments. Your work today is to: - identify where the problem exists, not just where speakers usually go - think beyond obvious stages - begin connecting who you would pitch to where you should look Tomorrow, we’ll go deeper into how identifying who to approach helps clarify where to focus your research. 🛠 Your Day 4 Task (15–30 minutes) Work through the checklist below, then post your response. ✅ Audience & Opportunity Checklist Answer each question honestly: ☐ Where do people with this problem work, lead, or gather? ☐ What obvious places does my message fit? ☐ What less obvious or atypical places could this message fit if positioned correctly? ☐ What industries, organizations, or communities deal with this issue regularly? ☐ Who is most likely responsible for bringing in speakers or trainers? (HR, leadership, program directors, event planners, pastors, founders, etc.)

The people with this problem are most often found in corporate environments, healthcare organizations, educational institutions, entrepreneurship communities, coworking spaces, women’s organizations, networking groups, young professional associations, and leadership development programs. An unexpected but aligned place my message could fit is churches, sororities, workforce development programs, community colleges, employee resource groups (ERGs), nonprofit organizations, transitional housing programs for women, and chambers of commerce focused on women and minority professionals. The role most likely to book me is HR leaders, program directors, DEI leaders, workforce development coordinators, community engagement managers, event planners, nonprofit leaders, founders, university program coordinators, and corporate leadership development teams.

Day 3: The Problem You Solve & Why You’re the One
Actions to take: 1. Listen to Day 3 Audio Lesson 2. Read today's Post 3. Complete Day 3 Task by replying to this post Good morning and welcome to Day 3. Yesterday, you clarified your message. Today, we go one layer deeper—because this is where messages turn into money. Speakers don’t get hired for topics. They get hired to solve problems. If a buyer can’t clearly see: - the pain point they’re dealing with, and - why you are the right person to address it, they won’t move forward—even if they like you. Today is about naming the real problem and owning your unique solution. ✨ Today’s Bankable Speaker Truth People pay to relieve pain and create better outcomes. My work solves a real problem. Read it out loud. What You’ll Learn Today Pain points are the bridge between your message and a paid opportunity. When you clearly articulate: - what hurts, - what it’s costing, - and how you address it differently, your message becomes marketable, your pitch becomes easier, and your confidence increases. Today is not about exaggerating pain it’s about accurately naming what’s already there. Your Day 3 Task (15–30 minutes) Work through the checklist below, then post your response. ✅ Problem & Solution Checklist Review each area and answer honestly: ☐ What pain point keeps showing up in conversations with my audience? ☐ What are they frustrated, stressed, stuck, or overwhelmed by? ☐ What happens if this problem is not addressed? (cost to people or organizations) ☐ What have they already tried that hasn’t worked? ☐ What do I teach, equip, or empower them to do differently? ☐ What lens, framework, or lived experience shapes my approach? You may uncover more than one pain point—that’s normal. Focus on the strongest three for now. Post Below Using This Format I teach __________ who are struggling with ____ , _____, ______.If this problem(s) isn’t addressed, __________ happens. My approach is different/unique because __________. After you post, reply to at least one other person’s post with encouragement or clarity. Sometimes hearing your own words reflected back helps it click.

I teach professional women who are struggling with financial literacy, career advancement, and navigating professional spaces without clear guidance. If these problems aren’t addressed, women remain stuck in cycles of underdevelopment, financial instability, burnout, and trial-and-error decision making. My approach is different because I focus on applied learning experiences that turn professional and financial development into real-world action through workshops led by industry experts.

Day 2: Clarifying Your Bankable Message
Actions to take: 1. Listen to Day 2 Audio Lesson 2. Read today's Post 3. Complete Day 2 Task by replying to this post Good morning and welcome to Day 2. Yesterday, you took stock of your speaker business and identified what may be missing. For many of you, message clarity showed up as one of the gaps—and that’s exactly where we’re going today. Before you can pitch confidently, follow up clearly, or get paid consistently, people need to understand what you actually do and why it matters. Clarity is not about being fancy. Clarity is about being understood. Clarity comes before confidence. ✨ Today’s Bankable Speaker Truth I don’t need a perfect message. I need a clear one. Read it out loud. What You’ll Learn Today A bankable message answers three simple questions: - Who do I help? - What problem do I help them solve? - What changes because of my work? - When this isn’t clear, pitching feels awkward, introductions feel long, and opportunities get missed—not because you’re not qualified, but because your message is doing too much. Today, we’re simplifying. This message will become the foundation for: - Your pitches - Your bio - Your content - How people refer you We’ll refine it over time. Today is about starting strong, not finishing perfect. 🛠 Your Day 2 Task (15–30 minutes) Complete this sentence: I teach __________ (audience)solve __________ (problem)so they can __________ (result). Then answer these two questions for yourself: 1. Where could I pitch this message? 2. Is this a problem people or organizations would pay to solve? Post Below Using This Format My bankable message is: I teach __________ solve __________ so that they can __________. After you post, reply to at least one other person’s post with encouragement or clarity. Sometimes hearing your message reflected back helps it land. I’m in the room with you—let’s keep building. __________________________________________________________________________________

Day 1: Taking Stock & Laying the Foundation
Actions to take: 1. Listen to Day 1 Audio Lesson 2. Read today's Post 3. Complete Day 1 Task by replying to this post Good morning my bankable speakers and welcome to Day 1. I’m really glad you’re here. Choosing to show up and do this work tells me something important--you’re ready to stop guessing and start building with intention so you can get to the BANK! Before we jump into execution, we’re going to do something that most speakers skip, we’re taking stock of where we are now. Bankable speaker businesses are built on a solid foundation. Without it, people stay busy, pitch inconsistently, or struggle to get paid—not because they aren’t capable or talented, but because the structure isn’t there yet. That’s what this challenge is about. We’re not guessing. We’re building the pieces in the right order, together. Start with Belief Daily ✨ Today’s Bankable Speaker Truth I am a bankable speaker. My voice has value, and my expertise solves real problems. Read this out loud and let it sink in. What You’ll Learn Today: Sustainable speaking success doesn’t happen by accident—it happens when the right foundational pieces are in place. Before you can pitch confidently, follow up consistently, or get paid well, you need clarity around: - Your speaking message - Your target audience - The problem you solve - Your pitch process - Your speaker business systems - Your follow-up approach You may find that more than one area needs attention, and that’s completely normal. This challenge is designed to help you identify the gaps and then intentionally build each piece—step by step—so execution becomes easier and more effective. Today is about awareness, not judgment. 🛠 Your Day 1 Task (15–30 minutes) Review the areas below and rate each one from 1–5(1 = not clear at all | 5 = very clear and consistent) ☐ Clear speaking message ☐ Identified target audience ☐ Clear problem you solve ☐ Pitch process ☐ Speaker business system ☐ Follow-up system You can rate more than one area as lower than you'd like—that’s expected.

The areas I need to focus on are: 1. Pitch Process 2. Speaker Business System My goal is to become excellent at pitching my business. Speaking is not my primary business, but I would eventually like to get booked as a speaker, as a byproduct of how well I speak about what I have built. Could I still build out my pitch process, speaker business system, etc in preparation for this?

Hi everyone! I am Shantel Carter, founder of SheIgnite Society and SheIgnite Foundation, a community and nonprofit dedicated to teaching everything traditional education skipped over for most women, from financial fluency to professional development, through applied learning workshops. My area of expertise is in community building, women's empowerment, and creating spaces where women can learn, grow, and show up as their fullest selves. As for my speaker journey, I am in the early stages of truly owning my voice and learning how to communicate the vision and impact of my work with confidence. I have a pitch competition coming up on June 13th, and that has been a major catalyst for me showing up here and committing to this work. I joined the Bankable Speaker Academy because I want to become confident in pitching and storytelling. I know the work I am doing matters, and I want to be able to stand in front of any room and make people feel that. I am also hoping to build genuine relationships with women who teach and champion public speaking, because it is one of the most requested areas of growth within my own community. So being here feels like a full circle moment for me. My goals this year are to walk confidently onto any stage, speak about my business in a way that moves people to action, and develop as a speaker so that I can eventually bring those same tools back to the women in my community. So excited to be here and ready to dive in!
