🤍 A Little Community Check-In
Hi sweet mamas! I just wanted to pop in and say how thankful I am that each of you are here inside The Sourdough Academy. If you’ve been quietly following along, this is your gentle invitation to jump in and say hello 👋 This community really comes alive when we share our kitchens, our starters, our bakes, and even the messy learning moments. So tell me in the comments: 🥖 What are you baking this weekend? or 🌾 If you haven’t started baking yet or your starter, what is stopping you? I would love to hear from you and get to know you better 🤍

Made my first loaf! Made a LOT of mistakes in the process, but I'm definitely more confident for the next time

@Mollie Rudd haha I'm not even sure- I've been watching so many TikTok's 😅 I do know though that this ended up being high hydration, so I'm going to do less starter next time. (It was 2 cups this time and just way too sticky through the whole process)
☀️ Happy Monday, Sourdough Mamas! 🥖
A new week means fresh dough, new lessons, and more memories made in the kitchen. Tell us what’s happening in your homeschool kitchen this week: Are you baking something?📚 Trying a new lesson or recipe?🥖 Feeding your starter? Drop it in the comments so we can cheer you on! This community is such a sweet place to learn and grow together, and my kids and I love seeing what everyone is working on. Let’s make it a beautiful week 🤍

My starter rose for the first time today! Day 21. Do I feed it when it falls or wait for the 12 or 24 hour mark?

My throwback is only about two weeks ago haha- I made banana bread- not sourdough related but it was so delicious and really boosted my love for being in the kitchen!
Hey beautiful families, Start Here!
Hi, I'm Mollie, a homeschooling mama located in California, juggling three active kiddos (11 months, 6 yrs & 11yrs old) and way too much flour on my countertops 😄 Like you, I wanted homeschool to feel joyful and connected not overwhelming. That's why I created this cozy spot. A place where busy moms (and our TK–12th graders!) turn simple sourdough baking into magic learning moments with bubbly science, sneaky math, tasty history, life skills, and the easiest discard recipes that actually get eaten. Quick intro from me: I'm obsessed with how fermentation teaches patience (and saves money on bread, snacks, treats and so much more!) My kids love the "science experiments" that end in fresh-baked treats And honestly? Nothing beats the smell of rising dough or fresh baked goods while we chat about our day. Now it's YOUR turn! Drop a comment below and tell us: - What grade(s) are your homeschool kiddos in? - What’s one thing you're most excited about with sourdough homeschooling (or one worry you have, let’s troubleshoot together!)? ** Bonus: Share your city/state or a fun fact about your family, we’re building a sweet little map of baking buddies! I can't wait to meet each of you, cheers to your wins, and swap tips. Grab a mug of tea (or coffee, mom fuel!), and let's get this kitchen party started. You're not alone here and there is no judgment, welcome home! 🥖✨ Much love, Mollie Founder & Fellow Flour-Dusted Mom The Sourdough Academy

Hello! My daughter is going to be 3 in August and we are starting homeschool! I love seeing how simple games can involve so much learning at this age! We are in Oklahoma, and I'm working on creating my first sourdough starter. Day 16, it's almost there! I'm slowly trying to get our home more healthy and self-sufficient, and I love seeing the online community it's bringing too! Excited to be here!
