treating the internet like a coffee shop
Just want to share a little reframe I had recently that might help other ppl! So I struggle to be online, and I'll be honest this wasn't something I expected to struggle with so much when stepping into coaching and business. I've always had social media, but I'm realizing now that the way I interact with it on a personal level is very different from what will make me successful on a business level. I use my personal pages to share some highlight-reel updates on my life, keep up with friends/family (recovering lurker), and maybe watch funny reels or scroll here and there. I never spent time in the comments, I never interacted with people I didn't know in real life, and I certainly wasn't being open or vulnerable in any way. I posted what felt safe and left it at that. So I have REALLY struggled with 1- showing up consistently online, 2- interacting with people I don't know (DMs, comments, etc) and 3- sharing more "real" content that isn't just trips/concerts/milestones and being vulnerable about new things I'm up to. The last few weeks I've been stuck in this cycle of knowing what will move the needle online (engaging with humans and sharing openly & honestly), but by the end of the day when I go to do it, I either have no mental/emotional/social battery left or I'm overthinking everything and making it weird by using language that isn't how I speak IRL. I also think my brain just struggles to conceptualize the vastness of the internet - to me its like the deep, dark, scary, open, unexplored ocean lol. SO here is my current solution: I have started to conceptualize the spaces online that I want to engage with as if they are physical places I can show up to in real life. Today I told myself "I am going to go hangout AT the Nursepreneur Lab from 11-12" and something about framing it that way just clicked in my brain. Next time I want to engage with people who are connected to my niche I will say "I am going to go hang at instagram/facebook this afternoon, share a little bit about myself, and see if there's anyone I connect with". I know this probably sounds silly or oversimplified even but I'm telling you its helping my brain and helping me show up 😂

@Cassandra Schiller yes exactly! when it’s not as tangible as being able to “leave” your place of work it becomes even more important to know what your boundaries are going to be!
My Journey from ICU Nursing to Holistic Health + What I’m Teaching Friday
Hi everyone! I’m really excited to be here, especially among nurses who are expanding what healthcare can look like!!🌞🌞 I’m a former travel ICU nurse turned holistic health coach, and one of the main tools I use is Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis (HTMA). And I’m talking about in the Sandbox Session this Friday!!😱 I was initially drawn to health coaching for the freedom it offers. I’ve lived a pretty nomadic lifestyle (including some van life🚐) and wanted to be able to take my work with me, from wherever. But during my time in the ICU, I also became increasingly frustrated with the gaps in our system. I saw so many patients who knew something was wrong, had been advocating for themselves for months or years, and were repeatedly told everything was “normal” based on bloodwork, I also experienced this myself as a patient. I’m sure you’ve seen this too🫩 That’s what led me into holistic and functional health, where things finally started to make more sense 🤯 Let me know if you relate!! When I discovered HTMA, it completely changed how I look at the body. It can reveal patterns and imbalances often before anything shows up on labs, giving clients something validating and actionable to work with. I now use HTMA as a starting point to create personalized, targeted recommendations so clients aren’t just guessing. ✨This Friday, I’ll be doing a short 20 minute presentation inside the Sandbox Session where I’ll break down 🕺🪩 - What HTMA is - Why it can reveal what bloodwork misses - How I’m using it in my practice! If you’ve ever felt like labs don’t tell the full story, I think this will give you a completely different way to look at your clients. I’d love to hear- have you ever explored HTMA, had a test done, or considered using it in your practice? And let me know if you’ll be there Friday! Feel free to message me ahead of time if there’s anything specific you’d want me to cover 🌿🌞

So excited to hear more about this on Friday!! I also completely relate to your experience of things not adding up until you started exploring the holistic side of medicine! I'm also participating in the Sandbox Session Friday! I'm going to share a little about the difference between intentional movement and distraction-based exercise, and how both can have a place depending on what your body and mind actually need. As well as how to recognize the difference between sustainable training and what is just another ride on the burnout bicycle 😊
from ZERO to hiring new team members
i want to take a second to celebrate 3 people @Julija Lemenaite , @Roxy Fink , and @Sydney Rinderknecht when i started working with these beautiful humans, they were pretty much at ground ZERO... (with the exception of Julija who had some paid clients in the past but just couldn't figure out how to make it consistent & sustainably profitable) now, they have not only all created new programs, signed clients, and gotten PAID they are also now HIRING people! @Julija Lemenaite hired a team member to come on & help with the success of her new program for DJs and producers @Sydney Rinderknecht hired someone to help her edit her content to free up time for her zone of genius and @Roxy Fink is hiring a success coach to help with all her clients i eat this shit up🍴 i'm not for hiring just for hiring sake but i am DEFINITELY for people bringing on help to create REAL freedom to do more of what they love and be in their zone of genius these are some cool ways these folks are doing just that the goal isn't just money... it's freedom if u build something that u are enslaved to you've probably done it wrong haha i'm sooooo big on this plz do not create something u grow to hate for a while, i was doing that then i had to get people in my corner to show me a better way to make more, while working less but maintaining my impact this path is not burnout proof in fact, u can trade 12 hr shifts 3 days a week for working 24/7 if u aren't careful don't just learn to create clients, learn to create real freedom drop ur fave celebratory GIF for these badass biz owners!

Hi everyone! My name is Kaitlyn. I’m a mom to a 3 year old, a break/lunch relief nurse aka a princess, and wife to my best friend. I love dancing, asking my husband to build things (he’s a carpenter) and spending time with my family, I especially look forward to our annual summer camping trip. My favorite Nickelodeon show is Rocket Power for a cartoon and the Amanda Show for skits. I finished the NCC program and got my certifications (for my hospitals clinical ladder and bonuses) and to see if I could. My next step/biggest challenge is all the laborious paperwork and formalities of getting a business up and running. (I have been procrastinating + life with a kiddo who isn’t getting great sleep) I have done coaching/mentoring with new grads within my current system (I love “baby” nurses) and also enjoy coaching those who are “people pleasers” as someone who also experienced this I enjoy watching people grow and flow as they say yes to themselves. I’m looking forward to being in this community and getting by business up and running. Thanks for having me. P.s. I LOVE GROOT!! esp baby groot.

Hi Kaitlyn!! Great to meet ya in here 🙂 I feel you on that paperwork/formalities of business feeling tedious & laborious (great word lol)! I love that you've been able to work with the new grad nurses at your job, I can only imagine how helpful coaching is when you're right out of nursing school! Your husband sounds incredibly talented!! Those projects he did are awesome, thanks for sharing! what's the next thing you need to do to get the business side of things moving?
