Week 5 Lesson Learned Share
Wanted to share. I increased my Reta dose this week, and Brenda supported me but cautioned me to not get caught up on the scale. In 4 weeks I’ve lost an inch on my waist and also went down other places while increasing my biceps 1/2” thanks to strength training 3x a week. I’m also down a few lbs but the scale bounces a little and I’m easily discouraged 🫤 I’m pretty good about my food and movement, but I struggle with drinking enough water. I’m going on a bucket list trip in 3 weeks and am in my head about the 5 lbs I want to lose to fit in my Summer clothes. My schedule has been busy and I’ve been counting on shakes and bars to hit my protein goals. Today I did some heavy yard cleanup work in the heat and sun and 3 hours in I felt like crap. No energy, my body hurt and my stomach was upset. I crashed on the couch and cancelled my plans for the evening. I also journaled that I hoped I’d feel better tomorrow. My brain was blaming everything on the Reta 😢 Then something clicked, I had only drank one diet soda all day and had eaten a bagel with cream cheese, a protein shake and a protein bar. So here’s where I feel like I need to share. I ate an entire chicken breast with veggies for dinner and drank 3 glasses of water and an hour later I feel like a new person. This is a long post but I wanted to share in case anyone else needs a reminder like I did - drink water and eat real food - a lot of both! Brenda is giving us the tools but they only work if we do the work. I love being a part of this community. Thanks for listening ❤️
