Hey y'all! I need a small favor...🙏
I've recently created The Design Brief Companion (working name) to help US designers practice, grow, and build stronger portfolios without the frustration of vague or cookie-cutter prompts (not trying to offend any design brief accounts out there lol). This custom GPT (my very first, so please bear with me) acts like a design mentor and creative co-pilot: it generates detailed, client-style briefs, expands vague prompts into strategic projects, creates quick skill-focused challenges, and even gives portfolio presentation tips. I made this tool because I know how hard it can be to sit down to practice and feel stuck, waste time with uninspiring prompts (especially those that are biased toward a certain style), or wonder if your work looks “professional enough.” My goal is to make practicing design feel structured, inspiring, and confidence-building. This might just be one of my most important projects yet (like a passion project of all passion projects if that makes sense), but I can't build it alone. If y'all are interested, I'd to invite y'all to test this GPT for yourself. Here's what you can expect at this time (subjected to change based on feedback): structured briefs that feel like real client projects; clear feedback on vague prompts; quick mini-challenges to sharpen specific skills; portfolio coaching tips for mockups, storytelling, and presentation; reflection prompts to help you grow strategically, not just visually. Just click on the links here to open both the Custom GPT and the corresponding survey afterward. Thanks for taking the time outta your busy schedule to build this tool with me. Sincerely, Sha'mya P.S. If you use the GPT to analyze an existing design brief, I'd recommend taking a screenshot of all the components of that brief (like these examples below, including a brief by TBC).
