There’s a concept in Islam that has always moved me deeply, Allah swt is to you as you see Him. It comes from the 15th Hadith Qudsi where Allah says: “I am as My servant thinks of Me.”(Sahih Al-Bukhari, Sahih Muslim) If we think good of Allah swt, if we believe He is merciful, kind, giving and close, Allah becomes those things. We start to look at life differently. Every delay becomes meaningful and every test becomes manageable If we think badly of Allah swt, if we imagine him being angry, always punishing us, distant, then every blessing and prayer feels like a burden. So yes Allah is who we see him as and determines what how the heart truly sees everything else.

delay is not always absence. Sometimes it is alignment. It is Allah shaping you quietly in the background so that when the door finally opens… you do not fall apart inside it.

“The heart in its journey toward Allah is like a bird: love is its head, and fear and hope are its two wings. If the head and the two wings are sound, the bird flies well. But if the head is cut off or one of the wings is damaged, the bird cannot fly.” (Madarij al-Salikin)
