HYROX Sep19 2027 [01:50:32]
In early May, I was invited to compete in a HYROX event. I said yes because I believed in myself and my training partner. There was only one problem. I had never done HYROX. Running on a treadmill was new to me, and every HYROX movement was new to me. SkiErg, sled push, sled pull, burpee broad jumps, rowing, farmers carry, sandbag lunges, wall balls. I had to learn all of it. We had four months to figure it out, put in the work, and get ready. So that's what we did. Four Months of Work The goal wasn't to suddenly become an elite HYROX athlete. The goal was to show up consistently and get better. We learned the movements. We figured out the weights. We practiced transitions. We worked on how we would divide the stations between us. And I learned how to run. That might sound ridiculous to someone who has been running their entire life, but running was legitimately one of the biggest challenges for me. I came into this with a bodybuilding and weight-training background. I was comfortable picking up heavy things. Running for kilometers at a time was a completely different story. But workout after workout, it started getting easier. Distances that seemed intimidating became normal. Movements that felt awkward became familiar. Weights that felt heavy became manageable. Eventually, we weren't trying to figure out how to do HYROX anymore. We were training for HYROX. September 19 Then race day arrived. There was nothing left to practice. No more simulations. No more calculating splits. No more wondering what the real thing was going to feel like. It was time to race. Eight 1K runs. Eight stations. Two people. One finish line. After four months of training, we crossed that finish line together. HYROX Mixed Doubles September 19, 2026 Finish Time: 1:50:32 Was it the time we originally imagined? No. But that's part of competing. Training gives you expectations. Competition gives you reality. And now we have something we didn't have four months ago: experience. bad ass! 💪🏼
Been training for Hyrox for 4 months (May4)
I got invited to join a Mixed Doubles team for the first HYROX in SLC. September 19 will be D-Day. I started training May 4, and it’s now been four months of consistent work. I’ve gone from hating running (Especially on the treadmill) to finding the right shoes (NOT zero drop!) and improving drastically. A speed that used to make me feel like I was falling apart is now a speed I can comfortably maintain in Zone1. Gone from just holding on for the eight HYROX movements to learning and mastering the mechanics of each one. I can move more weight. I can run further & faster. There’s still work to do, but looking back at where I started four months ago makes me realize just how much progress consistent training can create. I’m really excited to share the programming that has helped me get here, and I’ll have it available on the website soon. September 19 is D-Day. Time to see what four months of work can do!
