Week 4 Mochi and Matcha + Graduation
Totally forgot to post these three weeks ago but here we are! Mochi and Matcha Graduated! Yayy! So proud of then and how far they have come. I’m so happy to see how much more confident they are now vs when we first started. Walks have been much more calm and easy, we’re no longer worried about pulling, seeing people or other dogs on walks. Walks with both of them together have been so much easier as well, and continuing to improve. Mochi and Matcha, although are not yet perfect, we have some days where I ask them “don’t you guys remember anything from school?” their behaviours are so much more manageable which makes it easier to help them over come it. Since classes have ended we are continuing to work on and strengthen all our skills such as loose leash walking, place, unders, and recall. It has also gotten so much easier to introduce new people to Mochi and Matcha as well, they absolutely love all the attention they are receiving. Matcha is still faster to warm up to people then Mochi is, but he comes around much sooner and is also more willing to let people approach him. We’re slowly moving into more crowded places as well which is very exciting. Though at times Mochi does growl a bit, or Matcha gets scared of something, we’re continuing to practice over coming those things together every day! Forever so grateful to Arsenal and their staff for doing an awesome job with Mochi and Matcha! We hope to be able to join some group classes in the near future! We’ll continue to update on their progress here and there as well!

Certification Course for Dog Trainers
Hey everyone! Who else is starting the Pet Dog Training and/or Working Dog Training course on the 30th? If you’re interested in chatting about study strategies, feel free to reach out! I found the Pet Dog Training online portion to be a breeze but the Working Dog section is definitely way more intense like 100x tougher, haha!

@Kelton Crawford Yeah! Let’s absolutely find time to do that! Also, I found re-writing in my own words whats said in the course outlines on paper to be helpful. Especially if I’m able to relate something in the course to another concept I’m more familiar with. Then going over key words with a highlighter. It might not be everyone’s thing, but let me know if you try it and it works for you!

Ooo that all sounds fantastic! I haven’t thought about making exams through ChatGPT so I’ll absolutely have to check that out. Thanks! I’m still going through the working dog course when I have slivers of free time so I haven’t had anything in particular come up (yet haha). I’m familiar with a fair bit of the language used so far, but I think just as Jenna mentioned, a lot of this stuff will click more in practice aha
Week 1 - Lennox & Frank
Frank did great, especially with the walking, hardly had to press the button at all. Lennox was a little more difficult. More intervention required but not too bad. The place was a bit tough, Frank was better for sure. Lennox did get it but not as quickly as Frank and gain more intervention. We will shall continue.

I’m glad to hear you’re making good progress! The first week will always have its highs and lows, so I’m happy to hear that you’re continuing to follow through with your cues! Keep it up and we’ll iron out these things in no time 💪

This is awesome to hear!!
Patio time- can you believe it?
Royal on a sunny day, busy street - only reaction was the waiter walking over too fast (and he said “I should have expected that”.). Very proud of her. She was “under” the chair to start and slowly snuck out into the sun.
