I used to believe that confidence comes before action. That you wait until you feel prepared, until the fear goes away, until you finally feel like the person who can do the thing. I was wrong, and it cost me time I cannot get back. The truth is confidence is built by action, not the other way around. You do not think your way into readiness. You act your way into it. Here is what I tell people I mentor. 1. Start before you feel ready. The feeling of readiness almost never arrives on its own. It shows up after you have already taken the first step. 2. Let action come first, confidence will follow. Every rep you take, every uncomfortable conversation you have, every imperfect attempt builds proof that you can handle more than you think. 3. Redefine fear. Fear is not a stop sign, it is a sign you are doing something that matters. Comfortable things rarely scare us. The people who win are not the ones who eliminated fear. They are the ones who moved anyway.

Most people don't fail because they lack talent. They fail because they're waiting. Waiting for the right time. Waiting to feel ready. Waiting for someone to give them permission.
