BRANDING MASTERCLASS REPLAY 📹
Thank you to everyone who came to todays masterclass! What an amazing turn out 🔥 ***I would love to know what was the most important thing you took away?*** Drop it the comments down below! For those that weren't able to make it you can now find the replay of the class here. Although unfortunately Zoom decided to make the video super choppy... I can't for the life of me understand why Zoom does this every now and then. If you can't stomach the choppiness, perhaps listen to it like a podcast... At least the audio is fine. You will also find in the downloadable resources the slides as well as an "Artistic Branding Workbook" (also attached to this post). I highly recommend you download the workbook and complete it as it i'll massively help you gain clarity on who you ARE as an artist and thus how to brand yourself. This will in turn make getting known for your art much easier and remove most of the friction of feeling weird presenting yourself to the world. 🪄 If you enjoyed today and would like my direct support in helping you implement massive growth in your music career; launch your own label, get fans and start actually making money from your art, check out my new premium offering, Underground Accelerator. If you sign up by 1PM PST tomorrow (9 October), not only do you get 50% of the monthly price as a founding member, but you lock that price in FOREVER. awesome masterclass per usual Lex. Thank you for stoking everyone's fire and offering up your past experiences for us to learn from. Tons of takeaways in the above presentation. For those that didn't make it, well worth the replay.
Anyone use Tantra 2?
Hey folks, I know we need to not spend $$$ on unnecessary plugins but someone I respect recently told me to get Tantra 2. Anyone got experience with it? In this video it looks fantastic: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lmNvKlHro4Y

I haven’t tried it out yet but I know a lot of tech house producers use it. I plan to subscribe to plug-in alliance mega bundle which includes tantra 2 and the nice thing about PA’s subscription model is that you get to keep a couple plugins for good after a year of subscribing. So if I use tantra a lot, it is one of the plugins I’m thinking about keeping. If Tantra does not have a demo/trial you can always subscribe and cancel after a month or so and use it as a paid trial. https://www.plugin-alliance.com/en/products/mega-monthly.html
Working with what you have - Hardware Restrictions
Has anyone ever felt like their creative process is being held back by their equipment and tools? Do the latest gadgets, synths, and controllers actually make you a better artist, or do they just speed up your workflow? After adding new software synths like Diva, my projects have become more MIDI-based and less loop-driven, with more channels involved. Unfortunately, my laptop’s CPU is struggling to keep up, which is making it harder to finish songs. How are you all maximizing the use of your current gear? So far, I've tried the following: - Increasing buffer size - Closing unnecessary background processes in Windows - Setting project files to 44.1kHz at 24-bit - Freezing tracks - Avoiding processor-heavy synths/plugins - Using an external audio interface My studio time is limited, and when I end up spending more time troubleshooting than making music, it really kills my motivation. I plan to build a dedicated music PC eventually, but for now, I’m trying to make the best of what I have. Has anyone else faced similar issues, and how have you dealt with them?

@Phil Jones I've been using a Convolution reverb on my master chain to correct my headphones but have recently moved to adjust for a flatter response using Ableton's EQ 8. I haven't updated my Ableton template to remove unused devices in my mastering chain. I am going to have to give that a try before cursing at the computer more. I guess, implementing a new strategy to work in a pre-mixdown environment and then saving a new project file with everything bounced for mixing/mastering would work more in my favor.

@General Midi when I first started on my journey to improve mixing exclusively in headphones I read (probably misinformation) about using the https://autoeq.app/ to find a frequency correction to obtain a flat response in your headphones. You can then download a file and load it into a convolution reverb that supports EQ adjustments. I accomplished this using a free max for live device. I should probably post this method in the bad advice post from Lex lol. Either way, since then I have moved to just putting in custom EQ curves into Ableton's EQ eight at the end of my master chain to flatten my headphones and ditch the above method.
Another old unreleased thing (deep house)
I was listening to a lot of Deeper Shades of House shows (Lars Behrenroth) at the time. I still like this one, the arrangment and length feel right. What do you good people think? I'm trying to get a set of 3 EPs lined up and need to start choosing the style for each. https://on.soundcloud.com/3kb3M2aFFEVyfMaV7

What is the next piece of music gear on your shopping list?
Have you been eyeing any hardware or software lately and you're just waiting to pull the trigger? What is it and what do you think it will help you with?

I am currently waiting for the official release of the Behringer PRO 16 VER B. It will be my first hardware synth but if I get impatient I'm also looking at the the Behringer Proton.

@Eithafol Music the pro 1 looks legit and is part of their price drop. Can’t wait till the pro 16 comes out
