Psalm 78 - It’s good to have moments of reflection regularly and remember all of the miracles God performs in your life. I can find myself being caught up in the upcoming situation or the thing I want right now, and feel as if I’m not hearing god or feeling him. Bat a quick trip to memory lane highlights the thousands of miracles he’s performed along to way. Today is a day of reflection and gratitude. Acts 17 - it’s not just that Jews were persecuting paul and the rest of the apostles, Roman citizens were threatened by Jesus as an opposing King to Caesar, so they were just as angry. Quite literally living in hostility but refusing to stay quiet. Yet I cower when in a coffee shop over the thought of someone being offended.. the Berean Jews took time to reference the scriptures when they heard Paul tell the gospel. Makes me think of the current church and how most don’t open a Bible but just take the pastors word, or the podcast, YouTube video, influencers word as if it’s the word of God. 1 Kings 16 - the Israelites continue to live in chaos, war, betrayal, and defiance. Their leadership is far from the Lord, and the Lord has left them to feel their own wrath. Ahab is king and marries Jezebel, and immediately starts building statues of Baal and worshipping Baal. Unbothered… the influence of a wicked woman turns an already wicked man more cold. 1 Kings 17 - enter Elijah, a man of God who obediently and faithfully follows the Lord. He cries out to the Lord and saves a son of a widow from dying.
