Hey Joy! Welcome to the group. Technically yes you can do that, but it will get a little messy. A bunch of lofty's systems work off the website behavior and those will not trigger with real scout being your idx site. Lofty's property alerts are great and you can import those from real scout and into lofty. You just want to make sure your sending email domain is set up, that will make your alert emails look nice!

Segments and tags are very similar. Basically look at them as ways of organizing your system. It is a preference really. I prefer tags myself. I'll make a video on how to add the tags, they can be added on company level and personal. I do everything in company so it goes site wide for all agents on the system. Easy way to find tags is go to your settings, then click company on the top dropdown.......you'll see tags towards the bottom. Once added, they will pop up for you to select when asked.
