26.1 Strategy Guide
Hey everyone - just wanted to share the 26.1 Strategy Guide I created, feel free to use this with your athletes or share with your gym communities. Coaches - if you have feedback or sections you disagree with I'd LOVE to have some dialogue here. I've been creating these now since the 2017 Open, but never really got a chance to get critical feedback on what goes into them.

Love the layout and visually really appeasing. Maybe the could finish and couldn’t finish, be split more? Elites Semis / Quaters Class I know most of my community will be fighting to get to the 66 wall balls. Or atleast get through as many as they can. Getting to the 66 = 1 Rep every 5 seconds minus any transitions. Getting to 33/66 wall balls = 1 Rep every 4 seconds. ^Seconds per Rep x the reps would give a rough plan of what section they should be at and whether they are infront or behind time… For them, I would be telling them to hold off the fatigue until they get the to 40/66 amount so they don’t slow down on these vital reps which will help them score. - interested to hear your thoughts there? Equally you’ve already put that in with the 8&7’s for those that struggle with the volume of wall ball reps 😊 Biggest feedback from me is it looks visually 👌

@Kyle Ruth hey Kyle, Had a few athletes do this last night who wanted to get beyond 66 wall balls but and we aimed for a 7:30-7:50 time to start the 66. Gave them something to aim for before hitting the 66. Definitely helped a few athletes and they pushed to the limits at the end but equally I agree it might have put a few athletes off if they rushed through to get to that time - Equally, I think going off the timer also is about knowing roughly where your limits are. (Both of these athletes exceeded their expectations).
Anyone up for an experiment?
I have created an algorithm that can predict your "max sustainable pace" for sport-specific movements (like RMU, burpees, box jump overs, light TnG power snatches, etc). I'm really excited about the prospects of this... but I need to gather data. The tests are simple, Day-1 - 1min max rep of the movement Day-3 - 5min max rep of the movement For example Monday - 1min max reps RMU Wednesday - 5min max reps RMU These need to be done in a low-fatigue environment so before metcons / etc within training. All I need are those two data points and I can provide you with some really cool data that you can use inside training and competition. The movement selection doesn't matter as I am (fairly) confident that the formula I've come up with will predict sustainable rep-rates regardless of the movement. If anyone is interested in participating... let me know (1) what you're planning to test, and then (2) just upload your results directly here.

I am in! Let me know a movement if you’d prefer a specific one
