Hey Friends, I hope you are interested in signing up for next week's Podcast Sprint. Believe me the $50 will be more than worth the price will all of the information I will be sharing. Below is a small overview of what each day will entail. Remember these are Virtual Courses for you to do at your own pace, with some recorded elements and Live Help available on certain days. Sprint Schedule: - Day 1: Podcast Idea & Positioning: Defining your core concept, audience, niche, and the outcome your show will deliver. Choose your format, episode style, show name. - Day 2: Branding & Show Plan: Choose to do a full podcast episode or a teaser. Plan branding, opening, and closing. Map out course recording, and your first few episode ideas. - Day 3: Equipment, Episode Structure: Build main talking points. Review episode/trailer and recording plans. Learn how to set up your mic, recording software, and simple production workflow for your home recording studio (You do not need any equipment for the course, just a desktop, laptop or tablet with a good internet connection, camera and mic) - Day 4: Record with Confidence: Record your first episode or trailer with clarity and energy. (Get with Scott For Recording Time. Plan an hour block. - Day 5: Distribution and Monetization: Learn Distribution Models, How to Monetize Your Podcast. - Day 6: Edit, Polish & Package: Edit audio, add music, write title/description, and prep cover art. - Day 7: Launch Strategy: How to upload, distribute, and create a simple launch plan to publish and promote. You will NOT be launching your podcast on Day 7, but you will be sharing your episode or trailer with the class and receive feedback. We will make a gameplan to Launch the Podcast. Hey Gang, I hope you all had a great weekend. The 7 Day Podcast Sprint starts next Monday, May 4th and will go for the next 7 business days, Monday thru Friday next week and Monday and Tuesday the week after. I wanted to try to give you as much information as I can and encourage you to ask questions now if you have any. The course is only $50 and that is mostly to cover my time putting all the material together, reviewing your assignments, and taking the time to film any episodes on Thursday. I normally charge $300 and up for this course, but I wanted to make it reasonable for everyone here since we are such a small group that are helping each other. The course will be a mix of class work, assignments, worksheets, reviewing and recording. Each day's work will be posted in the classroom for you to do on your own. I will be LIVE in our video chat room for anyone that wants to pop in and ask questions, here on Tuesday, May 5th at 5pm EST, Thursday, May 7th when you record, Saturday, May 9th at 11am EST and Tuesday, May 12th at 5pm EST. You NEED to turn in your assignments sometime the night they are assigned or by 10am Eastern Time the following day, so I can give you any feedback needed. I have blocked out from 8am to 11pm Eastern Time to Record your sample podcast episode or trailer on Thursday, May 7th. As soon as you sign up, you can give me your preferred time to record, but no later than the first day of Class, Monday, May 4th by midnight. Recording should take :30 minutes to 1 hour depending on your episode and questions you have. If we have time, we can do 're-takes'. YOU own all rights to your recording, I will not use it any way, except if I ask, and you grant permission for me to use for an upcoming promotion. Your mission: record a 5-minute mini episode idea, not a polished episode, not a perfect script, just a quick voice note or video where you answer: 1. What’s one topic you could talk about for 20 minutes without notes? 2. Who would love hearing that topic? 3. What would your episode title be? 4. What’s the first sentence you’d say to hook the listener? Content brainstorming is one of the fastest ways to build podcast momentum, and even a quick idea session can lead to multiple future episodes Drop your episode title and opening hook in the comments. There are lots of moving parts when you are trying to launch a podcast and get people to listen or watch. Surprisingly a bunch of little things really add up...Do you have a compelling Title for each episode? (not the title of the podcast, but each episode should have some kind of title) Did you know that Thumbnails of the episode could have an impact on hooking viewers (see examples below) Are your descriptions using Key Words and Phrases?
