Do you wait until January to start new things?
I used to but stopped years ago. Why? Because the weather is awful, bugs are going round and my plans in January often get pushed back. This year has been a prime example. We’ve been snowed in since Jan 1st. It’s looking like it may thaw tomorrow. But that’s 11 days of January wasted. We’ve spent most of the time tripping over each other stuck at home. Trying to homeschool again as schools were closed last week. And trekking in the snow to the local shop on a daily basis only to discover the staples have sold out or not been delivered. I’m so glad that when I was gifted a 5 year journal in October by @Jo Simpson I started it there and then and didn’t wait until Jan 1st. Otherwise I would have stopped using it already because these last 10 days have been like Groundhog Day. Anyway. I’m doing things all year and not waiting for January, how about you?

I do not put any weight on January. So much other stuff going on, I need time to recover. It's the most Yin season of the year, so the Yang expectation is a mismatch. My whole "thing" is using the right energy at the right time, based on nature's seasons and your own. a-okay if Jan 1 lights you up. For me, it's incubation, planning, foundations, and I hit the ground running in spring with the lunar new year šŸ’›. (lots of opportunities for fresh starts with lunar cycles, not just the big year end/beginning!(
