Pottery Pop-Up
I’m planning on a Pottery Pop-Up in my driveway/yard the weekend of May 2nd, so in just a week and a half. I have not done any advertising, but plan to let folks know through social media and local groups. The fact is that I use pottery to help with stress and as a form of therapy… so I’ve been doing a lot lately 🤪 and I would like to unload some. It’s funny how my brain can go from worrying about nobody stopping to worrying about not having enough pottery for this Pop-Up. The brain is tricky isn’t it? Because it is in my driveway, there is no cost except my time/effort and I thought it would be interesting to give it a go. I normally do two Markets in November with my Guild and a local benefit so I’m set up for payment and to a certain extent, displays. I’m sharing with you because you’re my Pottery People 💗💗 and I’m nervous. And also to learn if you have any advice. I’m all ears 👂 EDITED TO ADD: I live on a busy/fast country road, so I won’t get foot traffic. It would have to be people who see my signs and drive in.

Has anyone here tried Kintsugi?
I was gifted a Kintsugi kit at Christmas and I’m finally ready to give it a go. I’ve got three plates I’m considering using it on and would love any tips, hints, or things you wish you’d known before starting. If you’ve tried it before, I’d absolutely love to see photos of your pieces too 👀 In my last kiln opening, I had two plates crack quite badly—both broke in half. I’d love to keep them as glaze references, so I’m hoping to repair them so they’re complete and safe to handle rather than sharp. However there are also some additional cracks visible on the back, so I’m wondering… 👉 Do I leave those as they are? 👉 Or is it better to break the piece further so I can repair everything properly? I've seen recommendations to sand the joins significantly before starting the process- is this to make sure that there is sufficient room for the glue to 'fill' a crack? Ive got visions it wont all align up afterwards! LOL I also have a little trinket dish that Nat at MudMagic sent to me which broke in transit so want to try to repair - but I don't want to mess it up! I’d be really interested to hear how well these kits actually work in practice if anyone has used them before. It comes with a two part glue, and three metallic powders. Any advice, experience, or photos would be amazing 💛

I’ve done it before on a large bowl that had a big S crack. I just used 2 part putty then gold acrylic paint. It was really easy & the bowl sold at market as a decorative piece 💛
Couldn’t Wait
I just want to share the fanciest trashcan aka waste paper basket in my possession. 🤪
