What are you actually doing this for?
Not the business answer. Or the one you think people want to hear. The real one. The number you wrote down in the gap exercise β€” that's the what. But behind every number there's a reason. And that reason is the thing that will get you out of bed on the days when it feels like nothing is working. Is it freedom? The ability to work from anywhere without being tied to a room, a diary, a commute? Is it time? More of it. With the people who matter. Without the guilt of always being behind. Is it security? Knowing the money is coming. Not checking your bank account with one eye closed. Is it proof? To yourself, more than anyone else, that you built something real from something you're genuinely good at. The business owners I work with are brilliant at what they do. They got into health and wellness because they wanted to help people. And somewhere along the way the business side got in the way of that. This is about getting it back. The clients. The income. The health and wellness industry is worth $7 trillion.
Growing to $9 trillion by 2029. The UK alone is a $250 billion market, growing at up to 8% a year. And most of the practitioners in it are struggling to make a consistent living. Demand is not the problem. People have never wanted what you offer more than they do right now. NHS pressure is pushing more people into private wellness. How many clients do you need a month?
Not roughly. Not "more than I have now." The exact number. Because until you know it, every marketing decision you make is a guess. Every piece of content, every conversation, every hour you spend trying to grow β€” all of it is aimed at a target you can't see. Most business owners have never worked it out. Not because they don't care β€” because nobody showed them how to. It takes about ten minutes. And it changes everything. Go back to your gap exercise. Take the difference between what you're earning now and what you need to earn. Work out how many clients that represents. Divide by 12. That's your number. Comment below with it.
