Good luck stick with just one opening tho for white vienna gambit is very great and for black against e4 i use Scandinavian which can be solid if you play well. Just work on tactics and you will reach your goal easily.
Hi everyone, I am about to turn 69 next month and I am retired and living in Florida. Used to play a lot as a young man and I would LOVE to get above 2200 Elo. I'm very happy to be part of this group. P.S. I go by D
I play 10 minutes each side games and the highest I've reached this year I believe is 1270 on chess.com. Is it a concentration thing or will like of strategy? 🤔 appreciate any wisdom 🙏🏼 https://www.chess.com/member/discoveryx
Im on same rating right now and even i play 10 mins rapid. Honestly for me my games are going great now. I think if you just practice your tactics well and study endgames it will make you really better. Try to not be hasty and think about each move but don't lose on time. You can practice puzzles from a book called winning chess tactics by yasser seirawan. It has basic puzzles from beginners to advanced level and it has helped me improve much better. For endgames i will recommend silmans endgame book and i would suggest you to go from the starting level to the 1200-1400 level. If you are still stuck you can learn a strong and solid opening and learn plans for it. If maybe you have problems with strategy you can read consise chess middlegames or winning chess strategies by yasser seirawan.
@Shaun Michael short courses will only help you understand the concepts you need to get more examples if you want to get better and a book easily fills it up. I would suggest just making a suitable plan for your chess study even if you get 30 mins all you gotta spend it on studying chess, practicing puzzles and Playing a game.
