Howdy, y'all! I'm a speaker and coach from the US, obsessed with helping coaches get more sales from speaking, but the thing i am really interested in is the subconscious, the nervous system, and how humans are influenced to change their behavior. this started with the question in the caption, but was really rooted in my own experience. first, as an athlete, looking at great sport coaches and wondering how they can get any player to do whatever they wanted, and the players would THANK them for it, for DECADES after. how can someone have such a strong level of influence? at a deeper leve, i became more curious around my own experience: both of my parents were addicts, and committed suicide (please hold your "i'm sorry's"). the experience for me was devastating, but left me with the same question, under a different format: why do people want something (to live a happy, fulfilling, loving life) but do the opposite (suicide)? i've spent 18 years coaching, and always interested in how great speaking isn't just great sounding, but it actually MOVES people to not only learn and act differently, but to EMBODY the ideas, values, and principles shared by the speaker. if you're interested in real behavioral change, and not just sounding shiny, let's talk! it would be cool to do a group call about some of our experiences, wisdom, and how we can enhance each other's skills.
