I had to come share this with the group! During the bootcamp, Dr. Sonja talked about getting out there, making connections, and creating opportunities instead of waiting for them to find us. So…I reached out to Hawks View Winery about potentially speaking/hosting an event around women, perimenopause, and wellness. And today I finally heard back! 🙌🏾 Their Wine Club Manager wants to sit down with me and explore how we might collaborate. Is anything booked yet? Nope. But did I open a door that wasn’t open before? Absolutely. 👏🏾 This is me putting what I’m learning into action—and I’m excited to see where the conversation goes. One email. One ask. One open door. I’ll keep y’all posted!

I sent out my emails and today I received a text message with the name and email address of the venue's event planner herself!. I sent the email...now waiting to here back for next steps! Scary & Exciting at the same time! I speak in front of a room full of college students twice-a-week 9 months out of the year, and presented in board-rooms....Why am I so nervous?!?!

You know something I never really thought about was having to go back and update all my stuff! Like I never really thought about it! Then I was on yet another webinar learning about how to grow & obtain leads. And the host said something that just struck a cord in me when he said the reason why your struggling to get gigs & leads is because all of your social media is outdated!! And I know I heard this before, but for some reason when he said it, it was like someone just slapped me in the FACE! Like REALLY! I was like come on GOD don't do me like that, LOL. But I have been told and I have heard many times all the greats in the world of speaking say that before decision makers even bother to look at your speaking application or resume they first search your social media! And I can't help but think like dang, all the speaking events I've applied for or reached out too and did't get, was probably because my social media looks like something straight outta the 90s! Is anyone else struggling with this? Like who else social media needs an update? And what are you doing about it? Just curious, let me know in the comments! As for me, message well received and I am now going through the rigorous tedious process of updating all my social media channels! Even here in this group, I have updated my profile and yes this is a current picture of me from this year, 2026 😄 .
