@Zandra Chatman Thank you for sharing this, Zandra. ❤️ First of all, please know that you are not alone. What you are describing—overthinking, feeling unsure, internalizing everything, and struggling to rest and trust—is very common when the brain spends too much time in survival mode. The fact that this feels new to you is actually very important. It suggests that this is not who you are. As you said, you have always been bold and confident. Those qualities are still there. They haven't disappeared. They may simply be buried beneath stress, fear, uncertainty, or an overactive alarm system. The good news is that patterns can change. One of the first things we will learn in this community is that we don't need to fight our thoughts or force ourselves to "just trust more." Instead, we learn how to calm the nervous system, create safety, and gradually teach the brain that it does not need to stay on high alert all the time. Be patient and kind with yourself. You have already taken a very important first step by becoming aware of the pattern and asking for help. I am glad you are here, and I look forward to supporting you on this journey. You can do this. 🙏
@Zandra Chatman Thank you, Zandra. ❤️ Wanting to lower your cortisol makes a lot of sense given everything you have described so far. Many people think cortisol is the enemy, but cortisol itself is not bad. It is a normal hormone that helps us deal with challenges and keeps us alert when we need it. The problem comes when the brain and body stay in a state of stress for too long and cortisol remains elevated more often than it should. The encouraging news is that cortisol often begins to come down naturally when we help the brain and nervous system feel safe again. Simple things such as improving sleep, gentle exercise, slowing down, deep breathing, spending time in nature, prayer, gratitude, meaningful connection with others, and reducing unnecessary stressors can all help. We will be covering many practical tools in this community to help regulate the brain and calm the body's alarm system. The fact that you are aware of this and taking action already puts you on the right path. Keep going—you are not broken, and positive change is absolutely possible. 🙏❤️
