Hi everyone! I’m Sal, Portuguese and back home near Lisbon after 12 years at Google in Dublin. I’m also a mum of two, navigating the transition from corporate life to building something of my own. :) I co-founded The Manual Break from a feeling I couldn’t ignore: the more digital our lives become, the more valuable it feels to make something with our hands and connect with people who live at a different pace. We create experiences guided by Portuguese artists and grandmothers, from afternoons of making, food and stories to creative weekends in the countryside. A chance to switch to “manual mode”, feel looked after and connect with local culture. 🤍 We have two experiences coming up: 🎄 21 November, Lisbon: a Portuguese Christmas afternoon with your adopted grandmothers. https://luma.com/k6mgta0k 🌿 12–14 March, Alentejo: a creative weekend with local artists, good food and room to slow down. I’d love to connect with women building in travel, culture, communities or employee wellbeing, and explore partnerships that could introduce these experiences to international audiences visiting or living in Portugal. Happy to share my experience in global operations, building teams and navigating Big Tech too! https://www.themanualbreak.com Happy to connect on Linkedin: https://www.linkedin.com/in/salomeperalta/
