I hope everyone had an amazing Christmas. As for me, truth be told I've had a bit of a rough month, so yesterday had its difficulties, but the fact remains that we are alive and we have an entire world just begging for our creativity! I just wanted to thank those that are present and remind you to purchase your copy of "A Little Life!" I am going to start reading tonight after work! If you are new to a book club, I have a few suggestions: - Please do not read analytically. Enjoy the story for what it is but take notes on the side. What moved you? What line or paragraph made you say "wow?" What character do you find yourself immediately drawn to? - If you feel like it's not catching on due to the writing, read slower. Use your finger if you must. Digest the words. If that still doesn't work, close the book - you're simply not in the right headspace or environment to read. - I find that reading to light piano in the background helps - but please note that is not for everybody. - Normally, I'd advise against notes in a book, but I find that a lot of people really enjoy this! Post-its are your friends, but don't hesitate to grab a pen and circle a line you love - after all , it's your book! Anyway, have a fun time! Can't wait to talk about it!
