For me, changing from summer to fall brings with it new temptations that threaten good habits that I created during the previous eight months. Putting t-shirts and swim trunks away and pulling out sweaters and jeans enables me to cover up the effects of any slippage. I tend to over-indulge during playoff baseball and football games on Saturdays and Sundays (and Mondays, and Thursdays), and while I really enjoy those times, in the back of my mind I know I'm undoing hard work that was done in the months prior. This fall, I'm making a greater effort to stick to the plan - one day at a time - and see if I can't do a better job this year than I have in years past because I'm better equipped to manage my diet and workout plan. Balancing good habits with the games I'm watching is the ultimate goal because the games and the comradery are what I enjoy the most - the food and drink is the associated trap that I'll do my best to avoid this fall.
