🚨 Confession: I Need You Organized People. 😂
It's only Tuesday, and the week has already been full of interviews, meetings, and exciting opportunities—including a conversation with a professional bodybuilder and an upcoming one on Wednesday with business owner @Calvin Dantley on growing your business. Stay tuned. With so many moving pieces, I knew I needed to pause and get organized before the week started organizing me. So... I cleaned my whiteboards and made my to-do-list. It may seem simple, but creating clarity helps me lead with intention instead of reacting to everything coming my way. I'd rather stay ahead of what's next than constantly feel like I'm catching up. Question: What helps you regain focus when your week starts getting full? A planner? A whiteboard? Time blocking? A walk? Share your go-to strategy so we can all learn from each other. HELP ME! lolbvs I like to keep you organized people in my life for this reason.

@April Warren-Grice That was her only show in STL, first stop on her tour! But yes, if she comes back, I would definitely go see her again. It was at city winery, food was good. Their wines are a bit strong and i think they mix em so like cocktails.
What practice keeps you in the game?
When life throws its hardest press, your practice keeps you in the game. Every missed shot, every blocked door, is just a setup for your next win. This is the game of life, and how you show up depends on your practice. What practice keeps you in the game?

What keeps you going when nobody is watching?
Hey Good People, The last week has been about rest, recovery, and giving myself grace while getting back on my feet. One thing I've learned is that when you pause, life doesn't. The emails keep coming. The bills still show up. Family still needs you. Deadlines keep moving. Yesterday, as I eased back into my rhythm, I interviewed Dr. Ron Rochon, President of California State University Fullerton. One thing he said stayed with me: Education creates transformation, exposure, and opportunities to serve. But what really struck me was his reminder that our work matters even when we can't immediately see the impact. Sometimes we plant seeds we'll never personally watch grow. That reminder was timely for me because there are moments when the work feels heavy, progress feels slow, or life requires us to pause. Yet the calling remains. Finish this sentence in the comments: The work I'm called to do is __________. If you'd like to hear the full conversation and some powerful insights about transformation, exposure, service, and leadership, watch the interview attached.

@April Warren-Grice I think right now work as a physician is as balanced as it can get realistically get (working part time or less). Full time clinical medicine with balance and sanity in the US health care system don't really go together except for maybe with a few select specialties.

@April Warren-Grice other countries may have their issues as well but not the same as in US. Would definitely say in general, at least from a medical provider standpoint, its better in other countries. In other countries, you are there to provide good medical care. Here in the US, medical care is a business. And what's the bottom line most important thing for a business?? $$$. I've been involved with practice starts ups who started with one mission (wholesome and good, for the people, the underdogs) and ended up changing directions to follow the money. Here we have to deal with insurance, the business administrators (think about who makes the most money in a hospital system; it aint the ones actually providing the care) and with all that comes bureacracies, politics, dictatorship (time allotment to see patients, how many patients have to see in a day, etc) and a lot of moral injury (not being allowed to provide the type of quality of care that is best and know how to do). And lets not even get into "quality metrics"......whew. Now with that said, private practice is often better (if you are the owner and the one that gets to make the decisions), but the trade off there is trying to manage a business and provide care simulataneously, which requires that much more of a time commitiment and know how, and I've heard of many struggling just to keep the lights on and doors open.
