You want to get into Nursing but unis ask for a qualification in maths... you hated maths. It was confusing and till this day you don't know what x and y have to do with the real world. The good thing is you can get a qualification in maths without the confusing and useless parts. The secret to getting through maths is in the roadmap. You don't have to walk the pre-paved path (or syllabus in this case). This might be paved but it has massive roundabouts, busy junctions, and confusing cul-de-sacs. Instead you can take the older trail through the country. It might be the bumpier ride, but it's also the clearer, the simpler, and the faster route. Some people say functional skills maths level 2 is better than GCSE maths because of it's simpler. Others say GCSE maths is better because it's the gold standard accepted by all unis. As the founder of the GCSE Maths Clinic I can say that neither is better or worse than the other. You can make GCSE maths simple and you can complicate functional skills. The key is the roadmap. To get on the simpler path, start learning in the community now. P.S. I'm planning to recreate the 'getting started' course with longer more detailed videos. Let me know if you have any questions you want answered 😊 I have one question for you. What qualification are you considering more: Functional skills or GCSE? /Roy
