Board of Directors vs. Advisory Board
Does anyone have a good resource or explanation to describe the difference in roles/responsibilities of the Board of Directors vs. an Advisory Board. I've seen many organizations with both, but I don't quite understand the distinction. Thank you!

The biggest difference is in your documentation and governance. The Board of Directors is listed in your formation docs and bylaws. They are reported on IRS documents as you scale. An Advisory Board is more informal, has no voting rights within the structure of the Nonprofit. In addition I've read and seen people use them as "trails" for new Board of Director Members. With Advisory Boards you don't necessarily have to document the meetings (ie minutes etc...), but they can provide a great resource for the Exec Director. Hope this helps.

Update - Missing the call this week
I will miss the call this week due to Spring break and my son's band Competition in Dayton, OH. To update my progress on from the last call, I've put out an ask for video editing to my donor base. We will see how that goes. In addition, we delivered our next Chair of Honor to Sgt. Ronnie Wygant, USMC (Vietnam Veteran). His story of his introduction to Vietnam is amazing. In short...get of the helicopter to learn you're now the Squad Leader of as a Coporal of a squad who just lost 1/2 its members in an on-going battle...then to immediately be called forward to the front line and defended against a superior force ambushing the lead of the battalion... amazing story that I can't wait to get up on our website...
