Friday, 3:47pm CET 👀 going with a slightly random number because those last few hundred views always take longer than expected
What don't you know about Growth Boost?
Let's talk. One thing I didn't realise is this: Mindy was testing with having the slider (image attached ) to 70% to see if anything would happen. This happened: 🙍‍♀️ X amount of members joined during the time I had the slider to 70% 🙅‍♀️ I went and put the slider to 30% again after 2 weeks, seeing no difference 💁‍♀️ The Premium tier for making the Pins was launched 🤦‍♀️ For everyone that jumped on the Premium (and joined during the 70% weeks) Skool is taking 70% from that monthly membership. Forever. So think about this... You move the slider to a bigger percentage, with the goal to get more members through Growth Boost. Right? You will pay Skool that percentage for ALL purcheses those members would ever do. It doesn't change back, when you change the slider back. I'm happy to open the conversation here. And please ask all questions you might have 🙂 Is it worth it for you?

That's such a sneaky mechanic honestly, hadn't thought about it that way either. Haven't touched the slider on my end since we're still small, but this makes me want to leave it alone until I actually understand it better. Does it follow the member forever even if they cancel and rejoin later, or does that reset it? Appreciate you laying this out, feels like the kind of thing that bites people months later without them realizing why.

@Mindy Molein Good to know, that's a permanent commitment either way then. Definitely leaving the slider alone until we're at a point where moving it actually makes sense for us.

Does anyone actually understand how Discovery ranks free communities?
Been trying to piece this together from scattered comments and still don't have a clean answer. Seems like Growth Boost being on is required just to stay listed at all, and the default "trending" filter naturally favors groups that are already getting traffic, meaning smaller free communities may never really surface there organically regardless of activity level. Anyone actually cracked this, or has everyone just accepted that direct traffic (sending people straight to your about page) is the only reliable lever regardless of what Discovery shows?

@Mindy Molein Glad we're on the same page here, feels a lot less confusing once you stop expecting Skool traffic to be the reliable part 😮‍💨

@Tamika Harris 25 years in housekeeping is actually a great foundation for this, you'd understand the operational side of a business (cleaning companies, property management, maybe even STR hosts) in a way most bookkeepers never will. Instead of general bookkeeping, might be worth looking for communities around bookkeeping for a specific niche you already know well, cleaning/service businesses, property management, hospitality, that kind of specific experience could set you apart a lot faster than starting from scratch in a crowded general bookkeeping space!
WIN for me AND you 😅
2 weeks ago I started a new project. I wanted other ways to promote your communites and help us ALL win with our communities. - I Opened a Pinterest account - Started making Pins and went from 400 to 2,3K views/month (and the month is only half way) - Made 36 Pins last week to promote your communities - Made 20 Pins for this community - First community owner got a member through my Pins Pinterest does not like us to send traffic to the same URL more than 1/week so that's why I am doing rotations of 1Pin/week for every community. The account starts to get traction and I will continue this journey 👊 If you have products that you want to sell seperatly from your community, let me know and I'm happy to see what we can do 😃 If anyone is interested in how to learn to earn through Pinterest, 1 place to be... Pinterest Skool! Pinterest Skool launches the Pinterest Holiday Traffic Playbook in some days and you don't want to miss out on this one. Let's promote!

The 1-pin-per-week rotation to stay within Pinterest's rules while still covering every community is a clever workaround, shows you actually understand the platform's mechanics instead of just spamming links. First member conversion from this is a real proof point too, would love a pin made for STR 30 if you're taking requests 🫡

@Mindy Molein Ah, good to know it's more of a best practice than a hard rule, either way it clearly seems to be working. Excited to see where it goes! 🥳
