writing slump
my greetings to all dear writers here, i have two simple questions to ask but might be a bit tricky to answer, if you are writing right now, what fuels your fire to keep writing? and what do you usually do when you hit a writing slump? thank you 😊

@Katherine Van Niman wow that is amazing, a collection? that is fantastic. self publishing is brave, i hope to find the bravery in me as well, and manage the path to self publishing

@Karen Mayer it is understandable, your book idea is not only very unique but very complex, makes a a lot of sense as why you felt so stocked, although a.i doesn't have the soul, but has so much data, sometimes, asking it for specific knowledge it helps ways more than reading too many articles and still not finding the answer out, these days i find it pretty hard to find a reliable answer to some of my questions, and asking a.i helps to navigate, go through so many articles at once and make sure no information of low value enters the search, and with that you have a body of text with which you can actually understand the matter now. which makes it ways easier when writing pretty complex matters, to seat down and write a full proposals to just get the hang of it
new author here, and i need help.
hello everyone, how are you? hope you guys are doing great. i am a new author, trying to write ;) so won't bit around the bushes, straight to the point. English is not my first language, that might sound scary, but it is not that bad, and it is not an excuse to write a poorly written book, i want to get stronger, and put words on the paper which would make me proud not ashamed, but there is always this fear in the back of my mind, asking "what if there is something within your writing, described the best you could, but still not how you wanted it to be? or what if the reader cannot actually communicate properly as you have planned with what you wanted to deliver?" that stress is neither good, nor healthy, i am very well aware of that, but i need guidance, is there any specific questions that i must ask myself during edit session, to make sure the text is exactly as what i wanted it to be, not combined with the images and the plot in my head, which creates the understanding; for readers who have just picked up my book, giving it a try, they wont have the images and the scenes unless the book is read, which means if i have failed to write it right :) they wont see what i see, they wont feel what i feel. sorry got a bit too long, hope it didn't bore you guys out. looking forward to receive guidance from my senior writers and this junior writer thanks you by tons already. take care.

@Trevor Harris the genre i write in is not very common, and novels in general are not that welcomed usually topic base style books, related to research studies, universities and such, these are the ones that would get sales and it is simply because professors at university push students to study them, other than that people rather read English novels than my mother tongue's in my country, promoting and getting attraction is ways harder than it might seem, the number of people willing to read my books is not even 1 percent of what i might get global that is why

@Trevor Harris thank you so much
The book cover
The book cover. Where do you recomend getting affordable book covers and illustrations from? My friends all turned down making a book cover on commission because they thought they were not up to the task. Please dont hate on me but this book cover was AI generated. I made a lot of changes to it with my simple understanding of photoshop and I think it hits all the marks of a good fantasy book cover. It tells the viewer this is a fantasy novel about a bard, a crazy gnome, and a horned woman who plays with fire at a circus.

@Sonja G that is a.i because and i don't recommend you to go with a.i generative images for cover at all, this would put a big question mark on your whole entire book as what else did the author write using a.i in this book?

there are artists on Instagram i have seen them asking for m.c (main character) pics from their followers and they would turn it into a painting they are usually practicing, so the quality might not be what you are going for exactly, but they do it for free, try to find artists and art accounts using #artistsofinstagram or #commissionopen there check and see which one you like their art style, illustrations of multiple characters are usually more expensive, but maybe you can find an artist who can do this for you for lower price.
