Free Tool: Make Claude Read Your Entire Manuscript (No Hallucinations)
I've been using Claude (the AI) as a developmental editor for the Blood Moon Saga rewrite, and ran into a problem you'll recognise: when you give it a large manuscript, it skims, guesses, and makes up quotes that aren't in your book. So I built a tool that fixes this. It's a "skill" — a set of instructions and scripts that forces Claude to actually read every single word of your manuscript, chapter by chapter, and then cross-check any quotes or claims against the original text before giving you answers. What it does: Takes your .docx manuscript and splits it into individual chapter files. Ensures Claude reads each chapter word-for-word (no skimming, no truncating). Verifies every quote it pulls against your actual text — if it can't find it in the manuscript, it flags it as a hallucination and removes it. Works with manuscripts of any length (tested on 90,000 words / 51 chapters). How to install it (takes 2 minutes): Step 1: Download the attached zip file Step 2: Open your Claude project folder (the one you selected when starting Cowork) Step 3: Create a folder called .claude inside it (with the dot at the front), then a folder called skills inside that Step 4: Unzip the downloaded file into that skills folder — so the path looks like: your-project/.claude/skills/manuscript-analysis/ Step 5: That's it. Next time you upload a manuscript and ask Claude to analyse it, the skill kicks in automatically. You don't need to reference it or remember any commands. Just upload your book and ask Claude to do whatever analysis you need — belief tracking, character arcs, chapter breakdowns — and it will prep the manuscript properly and verify its own work before handing it back to you. Let me know if you have questions!
