First Time at an Open Mic for a Long Time!
Hey fellow writers! I went to a Speakeasy last night. I feel bad that I didn't ask my friend @Jezabelle Jackson to go with me. I thought I'd missed it, that it was on Friday, and all of a sudden, I was able to go. But, it's monthly - and in February - maybe we can go together. Oh my gosh, you guys. I read the poem I just wrote about my mom this week after Monday's podcast. These are some of the love notes I received from the audience after the first round. I am floored by the amount of support, attentiveness, and holding space that was in that room. This gets me really excited about our Writer's Cozy later today. Artists in community mean so much!

that's amazing, so happy for you and all the support you received! 💗
Changes to Group Meetup
Okay, my creativity is bursting into some other outlets than writing this week. @Jezabelle Jackson and I recorded our first podcast. At first we thought Monday night would open into a group setting, but I think we’ll keep the Podcast and the Community Gathering separate. We can gather for conversation, quiet writing together, or what have you. I’m thinking Saturday morning coffee chat? Sunday? Middle of the night for us night owls? What would work for you?

@Liesl Garner I'd show up... but I've been trying to create "better sleep habits", so ya my luck would be that would be one night I'd be in bed already!

@Liesl Garner I totally get that!
Taylor Swift's Elements of a Great Story
Okay - so fun - in a conversation in another Skool, I met a lady who's writing a book - that has so many of these elements, it could be Taylor's next favorite book. I'm so excited for her! Just a fun video!

So funny! A lot of the elements in the book I'm writing... except mine has a supernatural twist. Maybe I need to reach out to Taylor when the books finished and see if she'll read and endorse it! Thanks for the invite into the gorup

@Liesl Garner yes you did and I can't wait to hear about Jesabelle's book as well!
Introduction
Hey everyone, I'm Rose Colbourne I’m writing a paranormal mystery series with ancient magic and a big old mansion full of secrets. It follows a woman who inherits responsibility for the estate and slowly realizes there’s more to her world, her family, and her own life than she ever imagined. It’s filled with witches, shifters, Fae, and other magickal beings, along with ancient, long-buried secrets tied to her bloodline. I also have a YouTube channel and just started a Skool group where I help people who've had enough of barely surviving financially and want to turn their income into a life they actually enjoy. I'm really looking forward to this group, I think it'll give me an opportunity to give myself permission to write instead of always looking at it as a luxury.
An Introduction
Somewhere along the way, many of us learned to treat writing like a luxury instead of a necessity. We get busy. We get tired. We tell ourselves we’ll come back to it later. And then one day we notice life feels heavier, noisier, harder to hold — and we can’t quite name why. This space exists for that moment of remembering. Holding Orbit for Writers is a place to stay close to the page — imperfectly, gently, together. No pressure to produce. No requirement to share. Just a steady place to return when you realize how much writing matters to you. If you’ve drifted and are finding your way back, you’re in the right room.

Thanks so much for this community. The book I'm writing I started 5 years ago and just happened to find it in my computer's folders about a month ago. I picked it up and started writing it again and in 30 days I have over 30,000 words written... about half the book. Right now, it's sitting there collecting dust once again but not forgotten.
