Your app is working. It is in production. People can finally use it. Then you run into a very unsexy question: How do you get paid and make sure the right people can actually get in? A checkout page and an app are two different systems. One takes the payment. The other needs to know what that payment means. I use ClickFunnels to make the sale and unlock access. Here's how I do it. Start with the workflow In ClickFunnels, a workflow is just a set of actions that happens when something happens like when Someone buys or a subscription cancels. ClickFunnels can respond to that event with an action. One of those actions can be sending a webhook. A webhook is a short message from one system to another that says, “This thing just happened.” Here is how you set it up First, create the subscription products in ClickFunnels. For example, you might have a Standard tier and a Pro tier. Second, create a purchase workflow for each product or subscription event you care about. Remember, a workflow is just the actions ClickFunnels performs when something happens. In this case, the thing that happens is a purchase. Third, add an action to that workflow that sends a webhook to your app. On the app side, give that webhook one clear job. Do not make the app guess what a checkout means. Define the access rule: A Standard purchase unlocks Standard. A Pro purchase unlocks Pro. A cancellation removes access. Now, when ClickFunnels sends the purchase event, your app knows exactly which access change to make. Set up the cancellation workflow too Do not stop with the purchase workflow. Create a second workflow for when that subscription cancels. That workflow sends a cancellation webhook to your app. Your app receives it and removes the access tied to that subscription. The real job We're not simply taking a payment.. We need to define what each payment event means inside your app. Which product unlocks which tier? What removes access? What happens if a webhook gets sent twice? Write those rules down before you launch.
