I recently purchased the TURBRO Digital Manifold Gauge Set on Amazon for $88. I am not a professional but so far am very impressed about the overall quality of the kit. Hoses, case, manifold all look great. I used it for a leak test on a R454b system and the menu was easy to navigate to with a built in timer while displaying the starting, current and delta P. Worked great. Suggest you buy two of the shut off valves since the hoses are not the low freon loss variety. If you can wait until Black Friday or Cyber Monday you may be able to get a great deal. So far I am happy with mine. It is identical to the Vivo Home unit at lower cost. If I was a full time professional, the Fieldpiece would be my unit of choice but hard to justify the cost for casual use..

Great point Mike. No I cannot check calibration of the unit. Not concerned for the pressure leak test and would not use for the evacuation process since it will not display Microns so I purchased a CPS unit. I am hoping it is accurate for subcool/super heat measurements but the Freon charge level seems to be more forgiving due to the TXV. I felt a little more confident after seeing David’s positive Youtube review of a cheaper manifold.
HVAC recommendation
We are near Colonial Beach, VA and have a 1282 sq ft manufactured home that has a 550 sq ft open area. In the open area it has a 9ft high vaulted ceiling. There are two 14"x5" rectangular runs of 45-50 feet in length. There are 12 floor vents. 5 of those floor vents are in the 550 sq ft open area. In the link below is what we are considering. ACiQ Extreme Series 2.5 Ton 16.8 SEER2 10kW Mobile Home Electric Furnace & Heat Pump System - R454B Inverter - ACIQ-30-HPD-MH / ACIQ-MH30BU3VWEC / ACIQ-EFS1020FD-MH | HVACDirect.com

Just installed an ACIQ standard heat pump along with a gas furnace. Purchased from HVACDirect and overall happy with the process. Only minor issue is that for support you first call and they enter a ticket. It may take a day or two before a tech gets back to you to discuss your issues. If you are installing this yourself they offer a two year parts and labor warranty for a few hundred $ which I purchased for peace of mind. If you are not a licensed installer and install yourself you will give up the ACIQ warranty and any rebates that may be available in your area. David (Diyhvac guy) also offers a service giving you full professional support and will submit your warranty claim giving you full ACIQ warranty. Cost is $1000. As far as equipment, so far all good. Also suggest doing the Manual J calculation to assure your system is correctly sized. I used AI ChatGPT which made the process relatively easy. I purchased about $600 in tools to do the job. Hope this helps.
Evacuation problem
Hello, I am hoping someone can help with a problem I am having evacuating a new ACIQ heat pump. I have performed a Nitrogen pressure test at 290 psi with zero psi drop after 30 minutes. No leaks found. However for the vacuum test I can only pull down to approx 700 microns and when I isolate the system it raises to approx 1700 and holds there. Using CPS micron gauge with Schrader core removed on low side. I have tested my entire vacuum system by placing a shut off valve on the end of the core removal tool that connects to the ac port and can easily pull down to 300 microns and hold there when I isolate from the vacuum pump. I am at wits end trying to figure why I cannot pull down below 500 microns and stay close to that value once isolated from the pump. Not comfortable releasing the Freon with this high micron level. Any suggestions? Thank you.

Update…I performed the Nitrogen purge as Mike suggested. After the first purge the Micron level came down to 380 so I open the freon valves. Tested the AC and seeing an 18 deg F drop between my return and output registers! Nice and frosty! Again I want to thank Mike and David for taking the time to share their expertise. I look forward to helping others on this forum.
