We are opening submissions for PTN’s second Live Listening Session. HOSTED BY our own: @Nate Michalic This session is focused specifically on music for visual media, so please read before submitting. (Submission info below) We are listening for cues or tracks that feel purpose-driven, structured, and built with picture in mind. 🎥Think arcs, scenes, ads, trailers, moments, and pacing. Music that could live under a story. Your cue does not need to be perfect. It needs intention. If it feels “almost ready,” or you want clarity on whether it truly lands for film, TV, trailers, or branded media, this room is for you. Before you submit, ask yourself: • Does this cue move in a way that supports visual media? • Does it have a clear structure, or is that something you want help with? • Can you hear it under a scene? • Does it have a sting, and what does the ending communicate? • Is the mix in a place where the idea can be judged? If any of this fits, or this kind of feedback would help you, send it in. Happy Holidays everyone! Wanted to share a strategy I’ve been practicing. I found a YouTube playlist of media scenes with no music. I’ve been putting my songs to them to make sure there’s nothing distracting in my music that could take away from the dialogue of the characters. This way it could provide a better option for the editor when they are putting music to picture. Hope this helps! It’s a new year—2026 is here. And the real question isn’t what year it is…it’s what are you going to do with it? If you’re a composer, sound designer, songwriter, vocalist , engineer or just lover of music, this is your space. Let’s come together as a creative community and be intentional. What is ONE goal you’re committing to this year? Finish an EP? Land your first sync? Build consistency? Collaborate more? Finally release the music you’ve been sitting on? Say it out loud. Write it here. Accountability starts with declaration. As cliché as it sounds—teamwork really does make the dream work. But only if we show up for each other.
