LIVE LISTENING - UPDATE -
Quick note for everyone interested. We’ve had solid "interest" in the idea, but actual submissions are low. For this session to work the way it is meant to, we need enough material to make it valuable for the room. IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN THIS EVENT, please send over your works via EMAIL [email protected] Please send it in by -THE END OF THE DAY. - so we can see if the session moves forward this week or if we should push it to give people more time and prep. AS of now, we are scheduled to go LIVE at 7:00PM THIS Wednesday, December 10th.. Either way is fine. We just want the session to serve you well.

PTN's FIRST LIVE LISTENING SESSION - NEXT WEDNESDAY, Dec 10 @ 7 PM - (CENTRAL TIMEZONE)
We are opening submissions for our upcoming PTN Live Listening Session, and we pushed it one week to give everyone time to get through the holidays, get back into their flow, and breathe a little before we meet. This session is focused on music for visual media, so please read this before you send anything in. (Submission Info Below) We are looking to listen to cues/tracks that feel purpose-driven, structured, and built with a visual/picture in mind. Think arcs, scenes, Ads, trailers, moments, and pacing. Music that could live under a story. Your cue does not need to be perfect; it just needs intention. If it feels ā€œalmost readyā€ or you want clarity on whether it truly lands for film, TV, trailers, or branded media, this room is for you. Before you submit, ask yourself: • Does this cue move, or can it work in visual media/support Visuals? • Does it have a good structure, or is this something I need help with? • Can you hear it under a scene? • Does it have a Sting? What is a Sting? • Is the mix in a place where someone could judge the idea, or is it even "ready"? If ANY of this FITS, or you can use this help... send it. SUBMIT Via Email HERE - šŸ‘‰šŸ¼ [email protected] CUTOFF at 7 pm on TUESDAY - (12/09 ) We will go through the submissions and feature as many cues as we can within the session window. Wednesday night, 12/10, we listen. Bring your best.

Getting that first placement
Hey composers! I just wondered if you all might drop some tips to getting that first cue placement. I’m really grinding to figure all this stuff out but I was just wondering if anyone here had some good general tips to getting that first big milestone!

@Nate Michalic yes to everything @Kevin Richardson said. This is how I started landing my first couple placements. Deposit before you withdraw as well. Offer what you can do for collaborations before asking what you’ll get out of it. Be a resource & opportunities will open.

What’s moving my creative world right now is some library music I’m working on. It’s a album of 90’s R&B, I’m using Janet Jackson’s Rhythm Nation as one of the references, and it’s such a fun genre to work on. Where I’m stuck, continuing my catalog organization to have a streamlined system. Wins are seeing a placement on my BMI statement, pitching 3 songs for some sports opportunities, and seeing my growth in confidence with my production, just feeling free and confident in making the choices I do musically when creating tracks.
