Growing the Platform: What's Coming Next
Hey everyone ! I've finally figured out what I want to do with this platform. It will remain free to use, but I'm excited to announce that I'm working on several courses and resources that will help fund my work and allow me to dedicate more time to it. These will be available through one-time purchases for the most part. What I'm currently working on (in order) 1 - The Syntropic Paradigm Course A foundational course that dives deep into the philosophy and principles behind regenerative agriculture. -60 short video lessons (around 5 minutes each) -Available in both video and eBook format (eBook will be cheaper) -An encyclopedia of real-world applications of the philosophy (practical examples and counter-examples) 2 - Stratification Course A systematic and applied course on how to get the most out of stratifying your systems. -Approximately 10 videos -20–30 minutes each -Practical and detailed -Focused on real-world implementation and design, not pure theory but good practice. 3 - Mediterranean Plant Database A detailed plant database built specifically for Mediterranean climates (from semi-arid to wet) -Launching initially with around 50 plants -Expanded gradually through regular updates (already have 350 species listed) -Including support species, crops, ornamentals, and climbing plants -Detailed information on functions, management, ecology, and uses 4 - Food Forestry Tools Course A practical course covering essential food forestry tools and how to use them effectively. 5 - Seed Shop A small seed shop focused on Mediterranean support species. Planned offerings: -Acacia saligna (already started, 5 EURO/100 seeds) -Physalis -Up to around 10 species 6 - Consultancies I'm also beginning to offer consultancy services. This summer: I've already completed my first consultancy, two more are already planned for July, and around four additional people have expressed interest ! If you're interested, feel free to get in touch. Extra details The paid courses will be available through the Mini Courses section of the platform.

That's great, Milan. Can't wait to see all the material rollout!
Potential Changes to the Platform
Hey everyone, I wanted to be transparent with you about something I’ve been thinking about. I’m realizing more and more how much work goes into running this platform - filming, editing videos, organizing interviews, managing content, bringing people in through Instagram, answering questions, and keeping everything moving forward. I genuinely love doing it, but it takes a significant amount of time alongside my other projects, farm work, and consultancy opportunities that are starting to come in. Right now, I’m putting around 3 extra hours into this every single day on top of my job - sometimes more (when filming). Because of that, I’m considering introducing a small monthly contribution for access to the platform - something in the range of 5€-10€ per month. My thinking is that this could help in a many ways that would benefit us all: - Make the platform more sustainable long-term - Allow me to keep producing quality content without burning out - Build a more committed and engaged community, rather than having lots of people join, take one look, and never come back. - I also want to take the quality of this platform to the next level. I don’t just want to keep making videos from home - I want to travel more, visit farms and projects in person, sit down face-to-face with growers and practitioners, and bring back real on-the-ground interviews and insights that we can all learn from. I also want to offer mini-courses, I’m working on a course on Stratification which will be quite detailed and want to do the same for important concepts such as Succession, the Macro-Organism and ect… All in all, that will take more of my time, planning, and travel costs, but I believe it could make this platform far more valuable and unique. Having some support from the community would give me more freedom to reinvest into this project and make it the best syntropic agroforestry learning platform possible. This isn’t decided yet - I genuinely want your honest feedback before making any changes.

Honestly, I have no issues with monthly contributions. However, people "lurking" or joining and not coming back are a feature of any platform. It would be a mistake to remove them or not think they are a natural occurrence. The building of any platform becomes an asset in itself. A general suggestion would be to look into the different monetisation models Skool has (such as freemium), where the more dedicated individuals could opt-in to supporting, and others that simply want to connect and be casual can also do so. This is something that Facebook and instagram do not really have. Additionally, another way to monetise is to have courses that are "one-time payments" to access. My point is, there are many options. You don't have to lock people out, if they choose not to pay. Final point, if you're thinking of asking everyone who is currently here to switch to a paid option or face being removed (which I'm not saying you are enforcing that) - I would advise against that. The people who have joined so far (lurkers or not) have been foundational to getting it to this point - Much like a the placenta, it is all part of the forest, just at a different stage. It takes time to build something that you can call a business, similar, it takes time to change a landscape. Hope this is all helpful. Thanks for all you do

Interview with Scott Hall
Hey y'all. I am stoked today to share this interview I conducted with Scott Hall. He's been one of my mentors for 3 years now, and to give him credit he's the first one who introduced me to the approach practically speaking, after I watched the Youtube documentary "Life in Syntropy". And, still to this day, I have not found anyone in the syntropic space that can explain syntropic ag the way he does, that's because he's simplistic, practical and grounded rather than going down the rabbit hole of nerding out on the content - which happens a lot in this space. I'll leave you to enjoy this interview ! the next guest I've got in the pipeline is Klaus Lotz from Permadynamics - he's actually a member of this platform. I'm actually gonna put the link to Scott's platform called "The pathway to regeneration" on Mighty Networks where he shares foundations and principles of syntropic ag as well as progress on his farm and it's a great online community of a few hundred people, some of them really know their stuff and there's loads to learn from beginner level to intermediate to advanced level. https://the-pathway-to-regeneration.mn.co/share/UGipdeUOczQbL98y?utm_source=manual

Scott is an amazing practitioner. Blessed to have him here in Aus and to have worked with him as well. Looking forward to watching this one

@Edwin Bomani I don't believe so. He has his own website he runs with a membership on there.
Powerhouse Plants for the Mediterranean Climate
Electing your plant species for your syntropic system is a very difficult process for many. It's this typical overwhelming process where you don't know which plants to choose, that's why I aimed at making it much easier for you; condensing it down to 30 plants that grow very fast. Bear with me, it doesn't include later succession species, but don't worry, it's much more important to elect the right species entering into the secondary phase of a forest rather than thinking too much about which species will come later, as you can plant these later anyway. Most important advice here, don't overthink it, use whatever species grows fastest in your context to establish your system ASAP. I've separated the low water needs plants from the moderate water needs from the high water needs plants - symbolized by the water droplets. To be clear this is about water requirements at establishment, many plants in the moderate water needs will become tough as nails over time but if not watered enough at establishment, they will die. As well, the pile of sand (only tagasaste) symbolizes the need of the plant to be in loose or sandy soil. The shovel means these plants require good decompaction to get a good headstart - meaning breaking down the hardpan in a clay compacted soil - ex: using a subsoiler. Also, the snowflake means that these plants are frost sensitive, typically when temperatures go lower than 2 degrees they can exhibit damage. these plants are truly meant for a mild Mediterranean climate - especially mild winters. Lastly, the successional role of these plants is added at the end : - Placenta : Short-lived - Usually about 5 years maximum within a Mediterranean syntropic system. They can reach maturity within 6 months to a year and provide the fastest growth at establishment of your system. - Pioneer - Secondary : Plants that consolidate the transition from scrubland to forest. They are fast-growing too - but not as much as the placenta plants, usually reaching maturity around year 2 or 3. They create these conditions for the secondary forest to take place by providing high amounts of biomass and shade for the secondary seedlings below.
