How AI Changes Relationships
I recently read an article about a man who became obsessed with an AI chatbot and it threatened his marriage, I thought about how interesting that was (sad but interesting), imagine having a connection like a spouse and instead you turn to the thing that has no emotions, the thing that just tells you "Yes". After consideration, I realized that AI is really bad for human connection. Most children talk to AI chatbots regularly, some even daily, and what they don't realize is that they're learning only to connect with those that constantly agree with them, which in turn teaches them to agree with others and not to think for themselves as much as a society of individuals really necessitizes. Proper human interaction exposes us to opinions that are formulated from a being with autonomy and its own biases, this teaches us how to formulate our own opinions and biases, with exceptions. The things I say also apply to peer to peer interactions, not all peer to peer, but in settings like traditional public school, where almost all interaction is with those that are the same age as you, still trying to realize who they are, it can be detrimental to the growth and neural development of young children. As always, I'm open to discussion and would love to hear your opinions in the comments. Warm Regards, -- Caleb. P.S. here is the link to the article.
