Favourite Childhood Outdoor Activity?
Do you have a favourite childhood outdoor activity that you can remember doing? It doesn't have to be the intricate carving with your granddad's penknife but equally that's great too! - Mine? being outdoors during the summer holidays, the freshly cut grass smell, my friends chapping on my door to see if I was 'coming oot to play' and then us all racing from the top of the council estate to the bottom, jumping fences and trying not to get caught! Great fun, even funnier if a friend was caught and being given a row 😅 Good times Anyone else want to reminisce 😁 Kids these days just won't have the same memories!
Favourite Childhood Outdoor Activity?
Building tree forts, swings, grease lines. We once built a 2 story fort with a look out tower. It was nice until the chimney we made out of old paint cans caught fire and burned it down. Oh what great memories @Lisa O'Brien
@Lisa O'Brien no doubt it it

Evening check-in
@Lisa O'Brien Only anxiety, is it is getting close to time for Yellow flys and I pray they are not out yet.
@Lisa O'Brien 9 Southern yellow flies (Diachlorus ferrugatus) are aggressive, small biting flies found in the southeastern U.S. from April to September. Females inflict painful, itchy, and often swollen bites near wet, shaded areas. They are most active during the day, particularly in late afternoon and on cloudy days. Key Facts About Southern Yellow Flies - Appearance: They are yellowish-green and belong to the Tabanidae family, similar to deer flies and horseflies. - Habitat: They thrive in hot, humid conditions near water, often inhabiting forested areas and resting in shady spots like Spanish moss. - Bite Characteristics: The female cuts the skin using a scissor-like action to feed on blood. The bites are known to be very painful, often leaving large, itchy red welts. - Activity Period: They are most prevalent in the Southeast from April to June, though they can persist into the autumn. - Behavior: They are persistent, often targeting people in groups. They do not tend to shy away after an initial attack and are often silent, making them difficult to notice until the bite occurs.

Alrighty folks, I want to get to know each of you over the next few weeks so I'll be sending a chat your way to organise a 1-1 chat. We'll set aside 20 minutes and it is really just to meet you all, learn about you and connect with you all better. We have such an array of people in here and I look forward to meeting with you! - Check those chat boxes over the next few days ☺️

Top Tip Tuesday 💡
Pack for Day 3, Not Day 1 Day 1 - You’re fresh, organised, and suspiciously optimistic. Day 3 is where reality shows up. When packing, ask yourself: • Will I still want to carry this when I’m tired? •Will I still need this when things are damp, messy, and morale is low? •Can this item do more than one job? Focus on: 🌿Reliable basics over “nice-to-haves” 🌿Lightweight, multi-use gear 🌿Easy access to essentials when you’re low on energy Because by Day 3, no one cares how clever your packing system is. You care about warmth, food, and not hating your bag. Old-school rule: if in doubt, simplify. Mini challenge: Lay your kit out and remove 3 non-essential items before your next trip. You won’t miss them & your shoulders will thank you
Top Tip Tuesday 💡
We have been trying to remove something on every trip.
