Happy Christmas & unplug
Happy Christmas folks, I hope everyone has a great time with family & friends. I’ll be slower than normal responding to anything that comes in for the next few days. It’s been a pleasure working with you. We’re only starting with big plans for 2026. 💪 PS I’d a super podcast with Skool member @Mick Cusack yesterday which will be coming out in the new year

@Anthony Walsh You should winter in Andalusia. Malaga is on 3 hours away! Average of about 6 rain days a month in winter.

Strange timing on this one. I was out for a ride in Girona today (it's beautiful here) and broke my chain doing 30 second sprints. Thankfully I had a chain tool and a friend had a power link. I got back home, catching up on messages and a group member had sent me a message asking what he should include in his saddle bag. Feel free to add to the list. Here's what I think is important: Pump, tube x 2, levers, multitool (with chain breaker), power link, tyre boot, valve core & remover, zipp ties.

One of these is essential. Fits in your bottle cage great for making coffee while you wait for the uber
The BONK
A few years ago I was in a little over my head with a Saturday group ride that I joined. The first few hours I was ok but then the crisis started to creep in. A feeling of utter devastation both physically and mentally took over and I just wanted to get off the bike and crawl into a ditch for a nap. Thankfully Anthony was there and noticed that I was in a bad way. When he rolled up beside me to ask was I ok, big fat tears started rolling down my face. It felt like nothing was ever going to be ok again. We peeled off from the group and I managed to limp (with a helpful push from Anthony) back to a town and into McDonalds for a life saving McFlurry and a coke. I know some of you will have experienced the BONK. It's bad isn't it?
