@Kristy Harbour Thank you - I'll repost when it's done. 😊
Brown Trout
As much as I enjoy painting river landscapes, I'm also keen to improve my fish portraits. Here's a recent oil painting (18"x30") of a wild brown trout I've donated to raise funds for a UK charity - I just hope it sells!!!!

Announcements
New Maps Feature in the Painters Hub
Hey Artists I am excited to announce a new 'Maps' feature that I have added to the Painters Hub. The maps feature shows the rough location of all the members in the Painters Hub. This could be useful if you would like to connect with other artists in your area. For example, you could meet up to go plein air painting. Now you may be thinking, 'Sam, what about security and privacy?'! Don't worry; the map doesn't show your exact location and is deliberately set so there is noise, with locations being many miles off from your actual locations! Watch the Loom video below, where I will show you the maps feature. ****************** I would really like your feedback on this feature. Please share your feedback below in the comments section or send me a message. Happy painting! Sam πŸ˜€ P.S. Want to take your paintings to the next level but unsure how to get there? Send me a message with the word 'HELP', and let's hop on a Zoom call, and we'll figure out a plan for your artistic goals. Also, I will unlock some bonus content for you to help you with your artistic journey πŸ˜€

A nice addition - it would be great to meet up with people local to my area.
A little help needed...
Hello there, I'm a few hours into this painting of a local stream on Dartmoor, England, and could do with some guidance on how best to approach the detail, especially the vegetation in the near and far off. The photo reference I have is pretty bland - so I'm making up the green mosses on trees and rocks as I go along. I'll be adding a few small ferns here and there and have my final highlights in reserve. Any thoughts?

A misty morning on a Dartmoor stream (23"x16"). Quite pleased how this one turned out....but still plenty of room for improvement!
