Time to write
I don’t write. Is the reality of the situation. I wrote as a teenager. Voraciously. Short stories, songs, poetry, screenplays, ideas for novels and sweeping, epic series. I studied Creative Writing alongside Film Studies at university. And then, I just stopped. No real reason. I just didn’t write anymore. For as long as I can remember, when people ask me the questions “what would you do if; you could do anything in the world / you didn’t have to work for money / you won the lottery…?” I always said write! And yet I wasn’t writing. I think I built it up in my mind so much, that if I went back to writing, and didn’t get published, the weight of that failure would crush me. And so I didn’t write. To put off, what I started to fear was the inevitable failure ahead. I’ve done a lot of work on me lately, on my self-esteem, my self-worth, my conditions of worth, etc. and what’s come out the other side, is someone who is ready to give it a shot. Not to get published, not to become “a writer”, not to get rich (ha!), but just for the love of the craft. For me, it’s time to write. And I can’t wait.

Nicholas I understand where you are coming from with the self-esteem etc. I am working on it. I only wrote poetry when I was a teenager. I find that writing helps.
Write and Read - Brief Introduction
Alright. A new Board for your writing process! Yeah! Here you can share your work, pieces of what you’re writing, or excerpts from a book you’ve already published. Let’s keep this an honest board. If we write, we should read as well. That way, anyone who shares their work here and wants to be read will have a real audience of readers. But I’ll say it again: if you want people to read your work, return the favour by reading others too. That’s how a community works. I’d also encourage writers to share just a few pieces at a time, maybe one or two a day, so readers have the time to actually read them and, hopefully, leave a comment. 😃 How does all of this sound? enjoy!

I hope I have. I have read the posts, I like them. I do belong to another group here on Skool First Novel Academy. I like it but i think having more than one writing group is good. Get different perspectives.

I've never thought about it, but I can see clearly it's attention. If you don't have attention you will make mistakes.
One small editing tip that instantly improves writing:
Read your work out loud. If you run out of breath, the sentence is too long. If you stumble, the wording needs tightening. If it sounds flat, vary sentence rhythm. Simple, but powerful. What’s one editing trick that improved your writing?

@Sloan Brian I'm doing the reading of it. I'm just afraid I'll edit something wrong and screw it all up. I did post a couple of chapters to my writing group, First Novel Academy. Got good advice just figuring how I can implement it.
