🕯️Spell Saturday 🕯️
Since Tirza is taking the weekend off I thought it would be nice if we could all share our favorite low spoons/limited energy spells that are really there for you when you need them and you know them like the back of your hand? I’m thinking spells that could be done from bed, spells that could be done on the train/in the car/however you commute, spells which are accessible and subtle, yet potent and powerful. Mine will be in the comments Alt text of image: Image of a number of houseplants, featuring an alocasia leaf and flower.

I usually keep with me some essential oil blends in roller ball vials, I make up. These are used with ease when you need them for quick use. Like one for protection or one for grounding.

🔥 Moon-day Torch Talk: Lykaina 🔥 (loo-KYE-nah — She-Wolf)
Last week we talked about Pótnia Thērôn — the Mistress of Animals, the face Hekate wears when She is reminding you that the instinctual self was never a problem to be solved, the card I drew last Monday. We talked about cats stalking across kitchen floors. We talked about goats. We talked about the wild thing in you that keeps getting domesticated. And I wanted to learn a new wild epithet. This week She shows us what that wild thing looks like when it's fully unleashed. Lykaina. She-Wolf. She appears in the Greek Magical Papyri in a list of Hekate's names — "mare, Kore, dragoness, lamp, lightning flash, star, lion, she-wolf" — dropped in without explanation, without mythology attached, as though it needs none. And it doesn't. You already know what a she-wolf is. The she-wolf is not the villain hunted to near extinction she became in later European history. She is a hunter and a mother at the same time — the animal that feeds her pack and teaches her young to track, to wait, to read the air, to move at exactly the right moment with everything she has. She does not hesitate. She does not ask for permission. She does not wait for better conditions or more light or someone to tell her she's ready. She already knows. She's already moving. This is where Lykaina extends what Pótnia Thērôn opened. The Mistress of Animals showed you the wild thing. Pótnia Thērôn is the retinue — the animals arranged around Her like a living crown. Lykaina is what happens when one of them breaks from the formation and runs wild and free. That's not chaos. That's nature doing what nature does. Hekate as Lykaina is the face She wears when the instinctual self is not just acknowledged but leading. The knowing that moves before your mind catches up — that part of you that has been watching, waiting, reading the room for longer than you've been consciously aware — She-Wolf is what happens when you finally let it go first. We are in the Descent. Phosphoros carries the torch downward into the dark. Lykaina runs ahead of Her. She doesn't need the torch. She knows this terrain. She was born in it.

To catch up with the wolf, would be to run with your own true power in life.
🌿 Solstice + the Turning Pot: Spellwork for the Hinge of the Year 🌿
The sun reached its peak this morning at 4:24 a.m. EST— the highest path the light will take in all of 2026. And then it turned. Here's what most people miss, my dears. The solstice isn't merely the height of the light. It's the turn. The exact instant the wheel tips and the dark begins its slow return — one minute a day, all the way down to December. Solstice means "the sun stands still." For one held breath, the light stops at the threshold. And every threshold ever crossed belongs to Her. Most folks mark today with bay and sunlight. We're going to do something stranger. Today, we cook the turning itself. There's a rite in the course built on a single gesture: you stir a pot one direction to keep something out, and the other direction to keep something in. That reversal — that exact change of direction — is the solstice. So today we let the pot become the year. The Solstice Turning Pot (adapted from the Leek Broth Boundary Spell, #5) Simmer three chopped leeks in salted water — leek and potato soup works beautifully here, and three is Her number. As it cooks, stir counterclockwise — against the sun, the new direction the year just took toward the dark. With each turn, name what you're leaving behind in the bright half of the year. What you don't want to carry down into autumn. Then stir clockwise — with the sun, honoring the light at its fullest before it wanes. With each turn, name what you're keeping. You might say as you turn: ✨One turn to release, one turn to keep — Hekate, walk with me into the deep.✨ Then eat it. You internalize the boundary you set — the line between the year that's ending and the one beginning. Leeks were among the first foods left at Her door. Tonight, you eat the turning. The light is at its fullest because the dark is already coming. We don't choose one. We stir both into the pot. 👉 The full Leek Broth Boundary Spell is #5 in The Hekatean Kitchen — newly unlocked at Level 3 in the classroom. The whole course works exactly like this: real rites, real ingredients, already in your kitchen.

I'm stirring out all things that don't help me keep peace in my life, and stirring in all things and people who can help me keep the peace in my life.
Happy happy happy summer solstice ☀️
How are you celebrating? I went up to the forest, picked up some flowers and walked in the sun 🌞

I hung out at the lake for a bit, and later on will set up a crystal grid and do a candle ritual.
