He sang me a song
One of my Maggie neighbors sitting on my back fence. No he's not imitating a Blackbird. There's one in the background. 😄

Grey Shrike-thrush
Sonya's post "Ordinary Birds" reminded me of my recent vid. So I was in the cafe and could hear the lovely song of one and it seemed loud. Where was it? I went out and found it singing under the bullnose veranda of the pub across the street. I reckon it discovered how much better it sounded having that big megaphone to sing into. These are a frequent visitor to my place and regularly seen and heard in the main street of my little town, Angaston. Edit: This vid needs lots of volume.

Ordinary Birds
Those everyday birds that you see all the time. Maybe they're a little on the plain side - like the Grey Shrike Thrush. You walk past them hoping for something more exciting. These birds hold the key to great photography 😉 When you see a bird on repeat, you get to know them - and their habits and actions start becoming familiar. The places they land, how they move through the trees, how they look for food and the little puddle they like to bathe in. And then you enter into the magical realm for bird photographers - predicting behaviour! It makes it so much easier to get a next level shot when you have a pretty good idea of what's about to happen next. And you are ready and waiting for it 🤎 PS: I'm going to be sharing a bird photography tip every Monday, so look out for one next week too. Happy birding xx S

Grey Shrike-thrush plain? Surely you've heard them sing. 😉I must find the video I did of one not long ago.
More of the Shelducks.
First shot is Dad overseeing his family from the bank of Marc's dam. Next 3 are of a Hardhead and Australian Coot seemingly babysitting till Mum arrives which is the next.

Mistletoe Bird planting a seed.
I posted this on my FB and a friend suggested he's about to sing his song with his head tilted up. More like he's straining to dump the mistletoe seed on the branch. He did successfully "plant" the seed but I'm not sure it will work in my Rose Sheoak. I've seen them do this in my Callistemon (Bottlebrush) a few times but they never take.

@Sonia Rampling Efficient effortless excrement evacuation. Sure is better than enema. 🫨 What's extra neat is how they do the sidestep to attach the seed to the branch via the viscin string and then break the string from their little bums. Clever little birds is these. 😁

Going bush is life long love. Photography too but cheap kit until recent years when I started spending the kid's inheritance. :)
