Crochet Art books
Most How to crochet books will get straight in to showing you the traditional stitches and you will likely have a go at making a dish cloth swatch. My most recent book which is “ Two Stitch Crochet Art “ is the most up to date. I wish I had the energy to make another book about “How to Cordcrochet” but It would give me severe brain ache. Making videos is so much easier, especially Now that I have a proper craft room. I have had craft rooms on a narrowboat, hay wagon, a bus a safari caravan, a static home and even on a boat in Australia! Now I make videos in a house! The two stitches I teach first are chain and slip stitch, then a flower. I also have a mixed media approach , so adding stitcky gems ( and bees and lady birds too) Adds a fun element instead of heaps of practice, I prefer wonky to straight edges. We don’t follow patterns, we experiment with hook and yarn and make it up as we go. I just spent an hour playing with cordcrochet. No rules.

I'd be down for either/or the straight stitch dishcloth, or the wonky edged doodly composite. Sometimes the scramble of free form is just what a peronn needs :)

I’ll have to dig it out of my latch hook basket. I had a momentary lapse and forgot that is what you use. I’ll be interested in seeing how it goes. I’m having a sit down break at the moment. When I’m at that end of the house I’ll take a look to see if I can grab that. Every thing is an upheaval. Bear with me, while I’m in an endless loop of events it seems.
The 100 Crochet Art projects…?….now 50…half way there!
It could be just 10 but I need a likely infinite number, so 100 it is. I had a wonderful class today in my local library 4 children were new. I realise that each time I have newcomers, they can start with the chain length and the flower or sometimes they can join in with a new/or previous idea. Last week we did bullion stitch. Today I was introducing rug stitch. 1) a chain length 2) a flower 3) hooking into holes 4) bullion stitch 5) rug stitch 6) plaited bracelet 7) Beastie brooch 8) make a ball 9) beaded bracelet 10) foam charms with hole 11) cord bracelet 12) bottle bug 13) bottle bracelet 14)bottle top sunflower 15) variegated yarn 16) foam face 17) basket 18)purse 19)chick pic 20) garden pic 21) bowl/nest 22)yarn bag 23) bullion flower 24)cord flower 25) bullion bracelet 26) bullion bracelet with beads 27) wire bracelet 28)bullion feet on string 29)rug stitch on canvas 30) bridges scarf 31) dolls bed 32)dolls blanket 33)doll 34)party headband 35)rainbow headband 36) garlands 37)fancy yarn bracelet 38)garland headband 39)two/three colour bracelet 40)wire bracelet with beads 41)coaster 42)mug cozy 43) design a necklace 44)Christmas tree 45)snowman 46)Bunting 47)double flower 48)double flower with leaves 49) two eyes 50)a face 51)rug chain stitch 52) canvas crochet 53)freeform using chain and slip stitch 54)Tunisian stitch bracelet 55)Tunisian headband 56)CD Coaster 57)CD Basket/bag 58) roller coasters 59) sponge Dollie’s

This all sounds amazing.
Absent, don't want to be.
Hi there, I realized I joined this group with every intention of participating. I apologize and want to let you know that I am keeping this on my skool.com list with plans to try to catch up as I can, when I can. I am currently having to be absent from various things, including my skool places right now due to life happening all around me in a very chaotic way. I will be back. I love what you are doing! Cheers! Oh, PS, I recently had the urge to crochet a hot water bottle cover. I plan to add a pocket to it and some small backpack crocheted straps so I can use it lightly when I don't need it for a hot water bottle cover.

So how does the latch hook and the Cordmaker work… Have you got a latch hook? Have you tried it?

I still need to locate mine in my huge pile of treasured tools. It shouldn’t be far. I’m currently listening to an embroidery artist while I do some chores. I will be jumping in and out because I tend to get consumed by message threads and honestly need to allocate some true crafting and sewing time in between life things.

I will find out. I will definitely show my granddaughters a new possibility through this method.

Like generations of other things in the family, I am carrying on at least at 3rd generation in sewing and crafting. It's necessary, lovely&fun too!
