Outfield..?
Does anyone else play or coach their GK's in outfield..? As I've said already, I have 2 good level GK's, 1 heading for possible pro level. Both of them play a bit of outfield for a change, during training - never matches - obviously. 1 is so good at this, they have been asked to join teams (without knowledge of what that actually do). I feel that having such of an understanding of what the GK does, helps no end when outfield. Also the sheer accuracy of passing - after being such a sweeper keeper & placing passes is a huge advantage. Does anyone else do it..?

My son is the number one GK for his team. He used to play outfield and has the itch to play outfield again. So he now trains with another team playing outfield only. Playing outfield as a keeper is a good thing. It really helps with footwork. He does some outfield training with his regular team, but often ends up in goals for a lot of drills. The extra outfield training is benefiting his goalkeeping massively.
Training
With all the cancelled matches and keeper training sessions I have been doing a few sessions with Ivor to keep him sharp. This was a bit earlier in the year, but I have only just got round to putting the clips together. We worked on handling, recovery saves, closing the angle and some general shot stopping. Ivor wearing his J4K 3G gloves.

@Lauren Forsyth I could do with some of his energy for sure 😂 playing once a week is enough for me!

@Bertie Fletcher the way it should be. Keeps them off the iPads and games consoles!
Postponed matches
Seriously frustrated, yet another postponed match this weekend. Ivor has played only 3 matches this year and it is nearly March. Just wondering what others are experiencing, particularly in the UK. We are in the Northwest of England. There are so many teams in the local area it’s near impossible to book a 3G/4G pitch. Should there be a winter break and extend the season? Thoughts.

@Isabelle Simpson are you playing on 3G/4G? All the grass pitches around here are a right mess.

@Isabelle Simpson We have great pitches at home, but even they are getting called off now. So many teams at our club though. Just at my son’s age group we have 4 teams. Plus the other age groups the pitches just can’t handle it. We have the best pitches in the area too. Some of the other teams will be lucky if they play any games for the next month, unless it stops raining and suddenly gets warm.
GOOD LUCK THIS WEEKEND - WHERE ARE YOU PLAYING?
Guys, GOOD LUCK this weekend ? Where and who are you playing, and what do you think the outcome will be ? Also, remember guys… Go out with ONE mission… And that is to enjoy your game and have as much fun as possible. Good luck Everyone Ray

@Olga Sannikova we are in the north west of England. The pitches are all like swamps. We have a cup match next week, but have been given a bye, we won’t have had a game in a month. There is a lack of 3G/4G pitches too for the amount of teams in this area. Think we have played 3 matches this year and it’s nearly March.
BEHING THE SCENES 👀
Out of the 4 gloves attached guys - What 3 glove would you run with ? Ray

I like black palms personally. I know they get just as dirty, but after a clean following a match or training they look brand new again. I could never get white gloves white again.
