Machine protection/ protection de maquina
English A new video has just been uploaded to Tattoo Fundamentals Tips! Sometimes it’s the simplest things that make the biggest difference. One thing I still see done incorrectly all the time is how people cover their tattoo machine. Here’s a quick video showing how I set up and protect my machine before every tattoo. It’s a small detail, but good habits lead to better hygiene, consistency, and professionalism.

@Aaron Clemons so let’s talk in strokes first as a general set up that I use would be liners from 7 to 14 I would use a 4,7 stroke which would translate to a coil with a harder hit, liners from 3-5 I would you 3.5 to 4.2 which is a softer hit For whip shading 3.8 or 4.7 , magnum shading if it’s super soft and layered a. 3.2 stroke and pendulum movement all though not all the time ,colour packing I’ll use a 4.2 or 4.7 stroke . Now all this really depends on each and one hand movement and machines

More important than the stroke itself is matching it to your hand speed, voltage, needle depth, and hand movement. A longer stroke generally delivers a harder hit, making it better suited for lining and solid packing, while a shorter stroke is usually smoother and more forgiving for soft black-and-grey shading. Don’t treat these numbers as rules—they’re simply a starting point. Every machine behaves a little differently, and the goal is to find a setup that works consistently with your technique.

I bought new pencils this week. Finally had some time to seat and play with they. Faber castell’s are awesome. But these are first high end pencils that I’ve purchased.

That’s amazing and Congratulations! That’s a great investment. One thing I’ve learned over the years is that quality tools really do make a difference. They won’t replace practice or skill, but they allow you to get the best out of your work. A lot of artists are afraid to use expensive pencils or good paper because they think they’re not “good enough” yet. The truth is, it’s the opposite. Better materials help you learn faster, give you more control, and make the whole drawing experience more enjoyable. Don’t save them for someday. Put them to work now, and let them grow with you. Looking forward to seeing what you create.

I recently got gifted some super expensive pencils, the blackwing pencils and the difference is brutal from other high end pencils that I’ve use before ,all though it took me some months to actually start using them because I always have the imposter feeling ,but i finally did and they have improved me pencil drawing a lot
Weekly challenge
For me the box 6,7,8 was a challenge, and still is. I need to work on it.
