Remarried
Dr. Ed, I’m am 65 and I was previously married for over 10 years and got divorced 12 years ago. I will be getting remarried in September 2026. Will my new spouse receive anything from SS in ether event say I pass away in 5 years? I’m not sure what my new wife can receive on my SS?
Apply for SS
Ed, I was planning on applying for my SS Benefit in the year I retire which is 2027, January. If I apply in December of 2026 will I get hit with the 22k penalty. My plan was to apply in December to receive my first check in January but if I have to wait another month and apply in January just to be safe that's what I'll do. Rich

I’ll just wait to January to post it safe. This way I’ll be at the earnings limit in 2027.
Earnings limit and 67 in 2027
Ed I left you a text can you check to see if you received it

Benefit Estimate on SSA Website
I went to the SSA website to see what my monthly check amount would be and I would like to know how accurate is the website. The website is saying $3,100. but then I went into another sections of the website and it was substantially less. I have an IDmE Log in and this is where I can see what I will recieve at 63,64,65,66 and 67 old.

Ed, I came up with roughly 65,333 since my salary is 98k. If I apply for my as in this coming December or January I should be good. I know I loose the small percent by apply 8 moths early so I’m ok with that. Is my math correct
