Great that you're now part of our community of basketball coaches. Please introduce yourself, and let us know where you're coaching. What are the special shooting moments you remember from coaching or playing - maybe a buzzer beater, the first in game 3pt shot, or s.th. else. What are the most important basketball shooting questions you have, or topics your working on? We're all looking forward to starting a conversation with you! Please also make sure that you quickly read these 3 simple community rules: https://www.skool.com/basketball-shooting-mastermind-2494/-/rules P.S.: After your introduction, we recommend you to go to "Classroom" to check out the videos in there!!!

Hi everyone, I’m Ricsi. I coach in Mannheim, mainly in youth basketball (U12 and U14), so shooting is a very important part of my daily coaching work. One of my favorite moments is watching my players shoot free throws in games: full concentration, full awareness, nothing else going on. Especially when I can see them using the advice we worked on in practice. I’m wondering how I can best explain to my players why it’s worth working on shooting form, and how I can help them understand that shooting development is a long-term process, not something that happens overnight. I’m glad to be here and really looking forward to the course.

Thank you for these tips @Peter Eberhardt ! My most important points are the following: First, create a ritual that helps you become fully focused and puts you in a safe place mentally. Concentrate only on the next shot. Second, stay under the ball, be stable, and try to shoot it straight. Every player will achieve this in a different way, but these points are essential for everyone. Do you have any additional advice you would add?
