Selling on Facebook Marketplace
This is such an underrated opportunity. I have been doing this with different items for the past 10 years. I buy and sell items locally all the time, and it's my favorite thing to do. I had never really promoted a business on there, but it's the perfect way for a lot of you. 1. You get to sell locally, which customers love. 2. It's free to post as many listings as you want. 3. You can offer shipping services. 4. You can boost the listing (with money) to show it to even more people. Normally, you will see service businesses (ex. junk removal) posting on here, and it works really well for them, so why can't it work for you? Here is what I would do: 1. Take a video saying who you are and what you do 2. Add 3-5 photos of your work 3. List all of your services in the description I dont know if marketplace is available in every country, but if you live in the U.S., this is the #1 way that I would get started. (If you've never used it, click the sidebar on Facebook and scroll until you see "Marketplace".) It's completely free, so you have nothing to lose. Good luck!

Anybody tried strategizing with a different approach besides social media content? Capitalizing on SEO, listing your business around an online presence consisting of cross platform listings? (eBay, OfferUp, Yelp, Google, Groupon, NextDoor, White Pages, Yellow Pages, etc?) Things like these worked pretty well for me when I used to have a service based business.

A quote I really like “It happens slower than you expected and then faster than you could imagine” Many of you have a business on the side or as a hobby. Which means you likely need to spend some of your weekends building. Many of you are making really great progress, but it doesn’t feel like it yet. You’re not seeing enough of the results that you’d like as fast as you’d like, and that’s normal. But just because you’re not selling a lot yet, doesn’t mean you're not getting closer. When I first started my printing business, I ran into so many problems. I bought all the material, and for almost the first 6 months, I didn’t sell anything... I was learning how to consistently make good signs. It was challenging. Many times, I wanted to quit and thought it was useless. But every problem I ran into, I looked at as an opportunity to learn, and once I learned it, I could remove that problem from the list. Something that really helped was making a big list of every problem I was having and then 1 by 1 working on them to try to solve. If you repeatedly do this, you will get better and closer to your goal. If you’re already good at your job, your next goal is learning how to sell. This is where your effort can really feel like it’s not working. You post a video, and it only gets a few views, and you’re upset. But you’ve now taken the first step and realize you can take another. “You can only build on success” Take what was good from that video and repeat it. Then take what you didn’t like and either improve it or remove it. If you repeatedly do this over time, you will get better. And if you’re new to social media or advertising, the results don’t usually come right away. Staying consistent and constantly trying to improve will move you forward. So just keep sticking with it. I promise every person (including me) struggled when starting social media. But the world rewards those who keep showing up. So good luck to everyone building this weekend. I’ve got my plans laid out and will be continuing to work all weekend, so just know that you’re not alone!

Business Services
I’ve been thinking about this idea for a little while and I would like some of your feedback. A lot of you guys seem to need help with websites, product designs, images, and a bunch of other things that go into this business. I am thinking about offering a paid service where I do these things for you. This could be anything from building your website to helping you market your prints. I’m not sure exactly what this would look like yet but I would be happy to hear your thoughts on it. This would likely be offered in either a higher priced group or as a service within this current group. I also have some free things I’m working on for this group to hopefully help you guys!

New Shop!
I’ve been pretty inactive the last few months. Been trying to get a new shop and was finally able to make it happen this week. The last shop was really difficult to work out of for various reasons which led me to not taking hardly any orders or working much in the business. I’m really happy with this place so far. It’s the perfect size and right down the road from my old one. I can finally start filming lots of videos again and it’s nice having a place I can hangout at all day and work. Was not expecting to move into a new place anytime soon but this one came available last week and I didn’t want to miss it. I’ll be in here for likely the next 12 months. Just need to get some more shelving and fill the walls with art. It feels good to start taking orders and filming again!
